CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (Sept. 4, 2025, 8:40 p.m.) – The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) 10 (Northern Mindanao) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) 10 signed a PHP1.03-million agreement to enhance the productivity of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) in the region

On Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, BJMP-10 and DOST-10 officials and representatives signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) that would benefit more than 100 PDLs in the BJMP facilities of the island province of Camiguin and Valencia City, Bukidnon.

DOST-10 Assistant Director Vincent Banal said the program includes skills training and enterprise development for PDLs.

“Male PDLs in Valencia City have been enjoined to avail of these skills training and enterprise,” he said.

Banal added that PDLs in Camiguin would be trained in malunggay (moringa) cookie production, supported by the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines.
