Bukidnon’s 3rd District receives PhP87-M agri aid

KIBAWE, Bukidnon – In celebration of the 2026 Farmers’ and Fisherfolk’s Month, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (Agri-NorMin) rolled out PhP87.57 million worth of agricultural assistance to farmers and local government units (LGUs) across Bukidnon’s 3rd District during the Agriculture Caravan held on May 7

Conducted in partnership with the office of Bukidnon 3rd District Representative Audrey Kay T.
Zubiri, the caravan delivered a wide range of agricultural interventions aimed at strengthening
farm productivity and improving rural livelihoods.
Among the assistance distributed were farm machinery and equipment, a trading post, hybrid
corn and rice seeds, fertilizers, garden tools, and production inputs for the establishment of
Gulayan sa Paaralan projects.
Beneficiaries included LGUs and farmers’ cooperatives and associations (FCAs) from the
municipalities of Damulog, Dangcagan, Don Carlos, Kadingilan, Kibawe, Kitaotao, Maramag,
and Quezon.
In a statement, DA-10 emphasized that the caravan underscores the vital partnership between the
national government and local government units in advancing inclusive and grassroots-driven
agricultural development.
In her message, Congresswoman Zubiri highlighted the significance of the initiative in bringing
government programs and services closer to farming communities.
She also recognized Bukidnon’s enduring role as one of the country’s leading agriculturalproducing provinces and paid tribute to the hard work and dedication of its farmers as key
drivers of local development.
Meanwhile, Agri-NorMin Regional Executive Director Jose Apollo Y. Pacamalan underscored
the importance of digital transformation in modernizing the region’s agriculture sector.
He encouraged LGUs and farmers to support the Department of Agriculture’s digitization
initiatives, which aim to enhance data-driven planning and enable more timely, efficient, and
farmer-centered delivery of agricultural services.
Adding to the support extended during the caravan, the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation –
Region 10 (PCIC-10) also launched the distribution of PhP8.6 million worth of insurance claims
to qualified farmers in the province.
The caravan likewise gathered several DA-attached agencies, bureaus, and corporations,
including the National Dairy Authority, Philippine Coconut Authority, National Tobacco
Administration, Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority, Bureau of Animal Industry –
National Veterinary Quarantine Services, National Meat Inspection Service, Agricultural
Training Institute, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, National Food Authority,
Philippine Rice Research Institute, and PCIC.
Through the activity, participating agencies provided farmers with updated information on their
respective programs, projects, and services, reinforcing the government’s commitment to
building a more resilient, productive, and sustainable agricultural sector in Northern Mindanao.
