Cops recovered suspected shabu, handgun in Kitaotao raid

MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon (28 January 2024) – A composite police team found a suspected shabu and a weapon during a raid on an illicit drug suspect’s home in Sitio Bacayan, Brgy. Sinuda, Kitaotao, Bukidnon

According to the report of Police Captain Christopher P. Tuzara, OIC of the Kitaotao Municipal Police Station (KMPS), the raid took place about 2:38 a.m. on January 27, 2024.

Tuzara identified the suspect as a 35-year-old individual with a drug-related personality.

Members of the Kitaotao MPS and the Bukidnon Provincial Police Office’s Provincial Intelligence Unit Tracking Team discovered six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, totaling 7.3 grams and valued at PhP49,640.00.

They also found drug paraphernalia, a coin purse, a blue-black pouch, and a belt bag.

A Daewoo brand 9mm handgun with serial number 15765 in silver with a black grip cover, an inserted magazine loaded with 13 live bullets, and nine pieces of cal.45 pistol were also discovered from the suspect’s possession.

A case of breach of Section 11, Article II of the R.A. No. 9165 was filed against the arrested suspect.

The recovered drugs were transported to the Bukidnon Forensic Unit in Malaybalay City for qualitative and quantitative investigations.

The seized pistol was also taken to the Forensic Office for ballistic testing. (melbmadera)

Sa panahon sa National Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Awards sa Quezon City, ilang nadawat ang ‘national awardee” status.

Gisikop siya sa mga kapolisan niadtong Hulyo, 28, 2023 sa kasong paglapas sa Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165).

SP approves the implementation of Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program

The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) approved Resolution No. 2023-0299 – A separate Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the City Government of Malaybalay (CGM) represented by City Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran with Mt. Calvary Baptist Church-Malaybalay City and the Journey Home Wellness Center relative to the implementation of Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program

On March 14, 2023, City Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran endorsed the SP requesting legislative authorization relative to the said MOA.

Dangerous Drugs Board passed Board Resolution No. 4, Series of 2016, entitled “OPLAN SAGIP-Guidelines on Voluntary Surrender of Drug Users and Dependents and Monitoring Mechanism of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign” wherein LGUs were mandated through their Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (ADACs) to facilitate the establishment of a community-based treatment program and rehabilitation and intervention to surrenders found to be low-risk or having a moderated substance use disorder.

The LGU has implemented of Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP) which provided community-based treatment and support services to Persons Who Used Drugs (PWUD) as part of continuum care.

The LGU also continues to strengthen the Dangerous Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment Program by sustaining the brief Intervention, referral to treatment, aftercare, and reintegration program for PWUD.

Mt. Calvary Baptist Church-Malaybalay City, being a religious institution, is capable of providing psycho-socio-spiritual support to PWUDs through the use of spiritual doctrines and spiritual/faith-based structured interventions aimed at influencing the well-being of the PWUDs.

Journey Home Wellness Center is a treatment center for people who suffer from alcoholism, drugs, and other addiction and provides recovery programs, services, and treatment to drug dependents directed towards physical, emotional, psychological, vocational, social, and spiritual rehabilitation and has advocated for drug abuse prevention.

The parties agreed to the terms and conditions stated in the said MOA.

After thorough deliberation during the 36th regular session on March 28, 2023, Hon. KathleenCecille C. Pagaling, Chairman of the Committee on Health and Social Services recommended and duly seconded to pass a resolution authorizing Hon. City Mayor to enter into and sign the said Memorandum of Agreement. (PR)

4 NorMin cops who tested positive for drug use face dismissal

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The chief of the Police Regional Office in Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) on January 18, vowed to dismiss police officers who tested positive for illegal drug use.

Brig. Gen. Lawrence Coop PRO-10 director, said four police officers are set to be dismissed for illegal drug use, the latest of whom is assigned to Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.

“We recorded this in 2022, and they will also face administrative charges,” he said during a media forum here, referring to the erring police officers.

Coop said most of the administrative cases in the region are related to the use of illegal drugs following the series of random and unannounced drug testing.

Drug testing will continue for this year, he said, noting that it has always been part of the internal operations of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

“The community wants to see a truly transformed PNP; a police service that is highly capable, effective, and credible; and a police force that can always be counted on at all times,” Coop said.

Coop also urged all key officers to exert more effort in the fight against all forms of criminality, especially illegal drugs and terrorism. (Nef Luczon/PNA)

Sumala sa taho sa kapolisan, ang biktima nailang si Noel Jhon Tangis, 21, ulitawo, residente sa Purok 8, Brgy. Sumpong Malaybalay City. Siya nakaangkon sa duha ka grabing samad pinusilan sa ulo, isa sa nawong ug isa sa liog.

Napalgan ang iyang patay’ng lawas nga nagkadugo diin ang mga kamot parehong gihiktan sa liston sa sapatos.

Matud sa mga residente sa dapit, nabati nila ang sunodsunod nga buto sa armas diin napalgan ang biktima.

Saysay sa silingan sa biktma, nga ang gipatay human sa panihapon uban sa pamilya ang misibat sakay sa motorsiklo.

Nakuha sa dapit sa krimen ang tulo ka kapsola sa bala sa kalibre .45 pistola, motorsiklo ug mga dokumento.
