4ID hold PMA entrance exam in 3 locations

MISAMIS ORIENTAL – The Armed Forces of the Philippines, in collaboration with the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), is taking steps to bolster the nation’s armed forces by conducting a PMA Entrance Examination on September 9-10, 2023

With 50 examination sites nationwide, the 4th Infantry Division hosted three exam sites within its jurisdiction.

These locations include Montalban Hall in Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City; Lope Asis Memorial Gym in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur; and Surigao del Norte Provincial Convention Center in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.

PMA Proctor Team Leader for Cagayan de Oro City PMaj Viktor Immanuel Mendoza said candidates who wish to take the exam as walk-in applicants were required to bring a 2×2 ID picture, a valid ID (including a school ID), a birth certificate, and school grades (transcript of records for college and registrar-validated school grades for high school).

“To be able to take the exam, applicants should be at least 17 to 22 years old on the first day of admission in June, have a height not less than 152.4 cm and not more than 193.04 cm, possess a GPA/GWA of 85% or its equivalent, demonstrate good moral character, and be single, never married, and never having borne or sired a child. Further, there is no discrimination against applicants. Even former rebels can apply as long as they possess the qualifications, and taking examination has no limit as long as the applicant is still within the age range specified by the academy,” Mendoza said.

Applicants who pass the entrance exam will undergo medical, physical, and neurological exams at the AFP Medical Center.

Successful applicants will compose the PMA Class 2028 and be formally inducted into the academy during an Oath-Taking Ceremony and Reception Rites on the first day of the admission month.

As of September 6, the proctor team has recorded 771 validated applicants for Cagayan de Oro City, with expectations that the number will increase to one thousand to one thousand five hundred applicants.

PMA reminded the applicants and their family members that both entrance and medical examinations are provided free of charge.

The examination starts with a screening and validation process, beginning at 6:00 in the morning. The simultaneous exam will start at 10:00 in the morning and is expected to end by 2:00 in the afternoon.

The history of PMA dates back to October 25, 1898, when a decree from General Emilio Aguinaldo established the Academia Militar, the First President of the Philippine Republic. This academy initially granted graduates regular commissions in the armed forces. On December 21, 1936, the Philippine Military Academy was formally created through Commonwealth Act No. 1 or the National Defense Act. It granted the Academy the authority to confer a Bachelor of Science Degree upon completing its four-year course. (JAKA/PIA10)

Adunay 47 former rebels nga naggikan sa Bukidnon ang nakadawat og package assistance gikan sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)

Base sa pahibalo sa Provincial Government of Bukidnon, gitugyan kini kanila ubos sa Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

Gilangkuban kini sa Immediate Assistance nga nagkantidad og P510,000.00, Livelihood Assistance nga P1,100,000.00, ug Firearms Remuneration nga P314,400.00.

Ang tibuok nga mga tabang mikabat sa P1,924,400.00.

105 ka FRs sa Valencia City miyembro na sa PhilHealth

VALENCIA CITY, Bukidnon (PIA)–Siyento singko (105) ka mga kanhi rebelde sa New People’s Army sa syudad sa Valencia, Bukidnon ang miyembro na sa PhilHealth dihang nakadawat sila sa ilang Member’s Data Records (MDRs) ug ID cards niadtong Enero 11.

Si Regional Vice President Delio A. Aseron sa PhilHealth Northern Mindanao miingon nga gusto sa gobyerno nga ipakita ang patas nga serbisyo sa tanang Pilipino.

“Kayo po aming mga kapatid na mga ‘former rebels’ ang importanteng bisita ngayon dahil dito po nais ipakita ng ating pamahalaan na tayo ay iisa—pantay-pantay po tayo. Dahil kung tayo ay magkakasakit pantay tayong makalatag sa banig ng karamdaman,” matud ni Aseron.

Gipasabot ni Aseron sa mga kanhi rebelde nga dako kaayo kini nga tabang tungod kay matud niya “Napakahirap magkasakit. MALITBOG, Bukidnon (PIA)–Nagdala og bag-ong pagla-um ang bag-ong tuig tungod kay ang 12 ka mga kanhi rebelde ubos sa ‘Hinanaling Tabang’ sa 16th Infantry (Maglilingkod) Battalion nakadawat og livelihood starter kits gikan sa Department of Labor and Employment–Region 10 (DOLE-10) sa pakigtambayayong sa Malitbog local government unit (LGU), Enero 6.

Matag usa kanila nakadawat sa tag P30,000 nga kantidad sa livelihood starter kits para sa Rice Trading nga gihatag pinaagi sa DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).

Ang DILP usa sa mga programa sa DOLE nga nagsuporta sa pagpatuman sa Executive Order No. 70 (EO 70) sa pag-institutionalize sa Whole-of-Nation Approach nga nagtumong sa pagtabang sa mga ‘marginalized groups’ pinaagi sa paghatag ug malungtarong kita.

Si Gergie Liponhay aka Jayto, kanhi commander sa New People’s Army (NPA) ug usa sa mga nakadawatsa maong tabang, nipadayag sa iyang pasalamat sa gobyerno ug nag-awhag sa iyang kanhing mga kauban nga mobiya na sa armadong pakigbisog ug mopahimulos sa serbisyo nga gikan sa gobyerno.

Php 1.76-M aid released to former rebels, CAFGU in Bukidnon

MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon (Jan. 17) – A total of Php1,760,000 has been released to former members of the New People’s Army (NPA) and CAFGU members on January 14 and 15, the military said.

The distribution of financial aid spearheaded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Regional Office 10 was held at the Headquarters of the 88th Infantry “Maringal” Battalion at Purok 10, Brgy. South Poblacion, Maramag, Bukidnon.

Each of the 63 former rebels has received P10,000 while each of the 226 Civilian Active Auxiliaries were given P5,000.

All of them were also given Family Relief Food Packs from DSWD 10.

Mari-Flor A. Dollaga, regional director of DSWD 10, Brig. General Ferdinand T. Barandon, 403rd Infantry Brigade commander and Lt. Col. Christian James P. Vingno, commanding officer of 88IB graced the simple hand-over ceremony on January 14 held at 88IB Headquarters.

105 FRs receive PhP4.8 M cash aid in Bukidnon

MALAYBALAY CITY – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) awarded a total of Php4.825 million to 105 Former Rebels (FRs) thru the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), the military said in a statement.

The awarding ceremony was held at Kaamulan Folk Arts Theater, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, on May 26.

Major Jennan E. Montealto, civil-military operations officer of the 403rd Brigade, said each of the FRs had received Php15,000 as immediate assistance while 65 of them have received Php50, 000 each as livelihood assistance.

In his message, Atty. Jay Albarece, Provincial Administrator of Bukidnon, representative of Governor Jose Maria Zubiri during the activity stated that, “In behalf of the governor, kami nagpasalamat ug dako nga kamo naka huna-huna na sa pag-surrender. Kay kung magpadala gihapon ta aning kumunista nga pamaagi, basin kitang tanan unya maalaot. Kay naa man ta sa demokrasya nga pang gobyerno, atong sundon ang pamalaod nga gipatikad niini aron kita makakab-ot sa tiunay nga kalinaw ug kalambuan nga atong gipangandoy sa pagpamuyo dinhi sa probinsya sa Bukidnon. Kung aduna kitay mga problema dili nato sulbaron pinaagi sa dahas o pag-gunit sa armas nga pamaagi, kung dili iduol ninyo kana sa atong kasundaluhan, kapulisan ug sa Pangagamhanang Lokal sa Bukidnon aron atong masulbad sa hapsay nga pamaagi.”

In his statement, Orlando H. Duhan, a former rebel said that “Tungod sa mga balita nga among nasayran gikan sa nauna nga nag-surrender sa amoa, kami nakahuna-huna pud sa pag-surrender. Gusto pud namo matagamtaman ang ilang natagamtaman sukad nga sila ni-surender. Daghang salamat sa atong mga kasundaluhan kay sila gyud ang nangunay sa pagtabang kanamo”.

Col. Jose Arn M Real, deputy commander of 403rd Brigade, said that “This accomplishment will not be possible without the collaborative effort of Bukidnon E-CLIP committee and of course you as Former Rebels, the beneficiaries of this government program. It is our gratitude that many of you finally decided to surrender and returned back to the folds of the law. We all know that you’ve been hardly struggling to survive back when you were in the mountains. As you see, different government agencies are doing their mandate to address this problem. However, government alone cannot end this insurgency. We need your full cooperation. Help us to call out all the remaining NPA members out there and to avail the government’s integration program”.

Brig. Gen. Ferdinand T. Barandon, commander of the 403rd Brigade, stated that “These 105 FRs who received cash assistance through E-CLIP will also benefit from the other programs of other government agencies. They will undergo different livelihood and skills training to help them sustain their needs. This is made possible by signing the presidential Executive Order No. 70 that advocates for “Whole of Nation Approach” to address the insurgency problem.”
