Giaprobahan na ni City Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran ang ordinansa nga magpangrehistro sa mga binuhing hayop sa kabarangayan sa Malaybalay

Sumala sa kasayoran sa kagamhanang lokal sa dakbayan, gipirmahan ni Mayor Pabillaran ang Ordinansa kaniadtong Disyembre 4, 2023.

Ang ordinansa nakalusot sa Konseho sa syudad human sa masusing pagtuon atol sa ika-70 regular session niadtong Nobyembe 28, 2023.

Unang giduso ni konsehal Alan Ryann O. Legaspi ang ordinansa mahitungod sa pagpa-rehistro
sa mga binuhing hayop sa kabarangayan kaniadtong Hulyo 25, 2023 atol kini sa ika-53 regular
session.

Nasayran nga ang pagpangrehistro sa mga kahayopan mao ang pagsiguro nga matabangan ang
mag-uuma sa pagpalambo ug pagprotektar sa mga binuhing hayop pinaagi sa paghatag kanila sa
tabang teknikal.

Dugang rason sa maong ordinansa nga masiguro nga ang mga binuhing hayop himsog, bakunado
ug luwas kini sa mga sakit nga posibleng makatakod sa ubang hayop ug mga tawo.

Gisiguro usab sa maong ordinansa nga malikayan ang pagkuyanap sa mga sakit pinaagi sa pag
monitor niini.

Tungod niini, mas mapalambo pa ang mga mag-uuma ug maprotektahan ang mga kahayopan ug

Cesafi MVP Kent Ivo Salarda: One of UV’s diamond-in-the-rough Bukidnon players

CEBU CITY, Philippines (Dec. 18, 2023 – 02:46 PM) — The University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers scouts didn’t fail mining diamonds in the rough in the province of Bukidnon in Mindanao throughout the years

The Green Lancers which hoisted its 15th Cesafi men’s basketball title last Saturday has fielded numerous top-tier players from Bukidnon with the likes of Cesar Catli and Poypoy Actub.

This time, one of the two Bukidnon-native Green Lancers, Kent Ivo Salarda is starting to make his name after winning the Cesafi Season 23 “Most Valuable Player” plum.

The 21-year-old Salarda was instrumental in winning UV’s 15th Cesafi title, and fifth title for his head coach Gary Cortes.

In the pivotal Game 3 last Saturday at the Cebu Coliseum, Salarda unloaded 14 points, while fellow Bukidnon native Raul Gentallan III chipped in 13 points to lead UV in scoring.

Salarda is one of four siblings from a family with no basketball background in Impasug-ong, Bukidnon, a sleepy town 65 kilometers north of the province’s capital in Malaybalay.

Salarda credited the entire UV Green Lancers team for helping him win the MVP title.

“Pasalamat kaayo ko sa Ginoo kay iyaha kong gihatagan ug ing-ani ng award. Ako pud gi credit ni sa akong coaches ug teammates kay tungod sa ilaha. Wala gyud ko mag expect ako modaog sa MVP kay kami tanan naningkamot ug duwa,” said Salarda, a second-year marketing management student in UV.

(I am grateful to the Lord because he gave me an award such as this. I also give credit to my coaches and teammates because of them (we won). I did not expect to win the MVP because all of us worked hard in the game.

Before joining UV in 2022, Salarda was already making his presence felt in the local basketball scene after winning the MVP title in the Pilipinas Super League (PSL) 21-Under Mindanao Conference Cup.

Defend the title
According to the 6-foot-1 Salarda, he wasn’t really focusing on winning the MVP but rather helping the team defend their title.

“Focus lang gyud gihapon mi sa goal nga kami mochampion mi ani nga season, wala kaayo nako gihuna-huna nga maMVP ko,” said Salarda.

(We all focused on the goal that we can become champions this season, I did not think a lot that I will become an MVP.)

“Kung naa mi sa court, akong mindset kay one game at a time ra gyud, pero confident ra gyud ko modaog mi kay grabe akong kahago sa training ug practice.”

(When we are on the court, my mindset is one game at a time, but I was confident that we could win because we really worked hard in training and practice.)

Nanumpa na sa katungdanan ang bag-ong napili nga mga opisyal sa Barangay sa dakbayan sa Malaybalay

Sumala sa kasayoran, ang mass oath-taking ceremony gipasiugda sa Lokal nga Pangagamhanan sa dakbayan ug inabagan sa Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) niadtong Nobyembre 20, 2023.

Ang mga bag-ong napili nga opisyales gikan sa 46 barangay councils nanumpa atubangan ni Huwis Edmundo V. Raagas sa entablado sa Bukidnon State University Gym. Nanguna sa pagsaksi sa seremonya si Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran kauban ang konseho sa Malaybalay nga gipangulohan ni Vice-Mayor Estelito R. Marabe.

Naa usab ang presensya sa Department Heads, bisita ug pamilya sa mga nanumpa. Gipaabot ni Mayor Pabillaran ang iyang hingpit nga suporta ug mainitong pag congratulate sa tanang opisyales nga molingkod diha sa bag-ong katungdanan.

Students from 23 schools in Bukidnon receive bags, school supplies

MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon-Selected students from 23 schools in the landlocked province of Bukidnon were recently given backpacks and school supplies

The 403rd Brigade in a press release said that the program was spearheaded by the Office of the Vice President (OVP) Davao Satellite Office through its special project called PagbaBAGo program.
Peoples Organizations (POs) and schoolchildren are the program’s intended beneficiaries.
A series of activities were held in conjunction with the planting of 2,000 Narra trees in Brgy. Kalasungay on November 8, 2023, which was followed by the distribution of backpacks containing school supplies for Bukidnon’s identified underprivileged schoolchildren from November 8-10, 2023.
A total of 4,019 school bags were provided to students from various schools in Malaybalay City (2,890 beneficiaries), Impasugong (973 beneficiaries), and Cabanglasan (156 beneficiaries).
Furthermore, the aforementioned operations were carried out in collaboration with the Office of the Provincial Governor, the 403rd Infantry “Peacemaker” Brigade, Bukas Kalinaw, 8th Infantry
Infantry Battalion, 88th Infantry Battalion, and 16th Infantry Battalion under 402nd Infantry Brigade.
Ms. Regina Rose D. Tecson, the OVP Officer-in-Charge of the Davao-based satellite office noted that the Tree planting and distribution of bags are the flagship program of the Vice President Sara Duterte that are shown to be beneficial to the community even during her term as Mayor of Davao City.
The OVP is optimistic that the bag distribution will encourage pupils to work hard despite their poverty and to harvest what they sow in the future.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Michele B Anayron Jr, commander of the 403rd Brigade, expressed gratitude to the Vice President for selecting Bukidnon, primarily in the Area of Responsibility of the 403rd Brigade, to be the beneficiary of the PagbaBAGo program.
“We in the Philippine Army in collaboration with the Bukas Kalinaw and other stakeholders and government agencies will continue to support in extending social services to the community for the sustainable peace and development effort in order to finally end the insurgency,” Anayron said. Ang Municipality of Libona mipatuman sa isa ka livestock program niadtong Oktubre 20, 2023

DOT-10 conducts orientation on online accreditation for tourism-related enterprises

On July 14, 2023, the City of Malaybalay, under the leadership of City Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran and through the City Tourism Office spearheaded by Ms. Honolu Marie C. Cruzin, partnered with the Department of Tourism Region 10 to conduct an orientation for Accreditation

This certification, issued by the Department, officially recognizes tourism enterprises that have complied with the minimum standards for the operation of tourism facilities and services under RA 9593, also known as the Tourism Act of 2009.

RA 9593 Section 14 c) mandates the enforcement of Mandatory Accreditation for primary tourism enterprises and voluntary accreditation for secondary tourism enterprises, in accordance with prescribed guidelines and standards. Section 14 d) aims to establish a system of registration, information, linkage, and mutual assistance among accredited tourism enterprises to enhance the value of accreditation and improve the quality of service rendered by such enterprises.

According to RA 9593 Section 17 a), Regional Offices are responsible for implementing laws, policies, plans, programs, rules, and regulations of the Department, particularly those relating to compliance and the accreditation of tourism enterprises promulgated by the Department.

In line with this, Memorandum Circular 2019-17 issued by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) reiterates the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 9593 or the Tourism Act of 2009. The circular indicates that primary tourism enterprises, including hotels, resorts, inns, and other accommodation establishments, are required to secure accreditation from the DOT to obtain a license or permit to operate.

Mr. Ariel Gabriel Estrada, the Standards and Accreditations Officer of DOT-10, facilitated the orientation and highlighted the benefits and importance of Accreditation by DOT to the participants. In the afternoon session, he assisted the participants in submitting their requirements for the Online Accreditation Application.

The newly introduced Online Accreditation System offers a contactless transaction and hazard-free government service, aiming to expedite accreditation requests from local tourism establishments.

Through this streamlined system, local businesses, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which collectively form the backbone of the tourism industry, will experience improved ease of doing business.

The orientation was well-attended, with a total of 80 participants. Councilor Royland M. Orquia, Committee Chairman on Tourism, warmly welcomed and expressed gratitude to everyone present during the orientation. (LGU Malaybalay)
