The blessings and turnover ceremony were held in front of the Provincial Government of Bukidnon (PGB) Office in Malaybalay City on December 5, 2023.

A news release said Provincial Governor Rogelio Neil P. Roque oversaw the handover of the automobiles to the beneficiary barangays.

“We’re here today to turn over our Patient Transport Vehicle Units.” These units are merely a part of what we envision as the “Patient Navigation and Referral System” and our “One Hospital Command,” Roque explained to the audience before the vehicles were released.

The 96 automobiles were among the 105 new vehicles purchased by PGB.

The vehicles are Toyota Hilux FX 4×2 MT – M2-11, color ultra-white 2.4L, with rear AC.

The PGB has allocated PhP158,025,000.00 for the purchase of 105 new vehicles.

The six new vehicles of the 105 units were provided to the PGO-Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Division, with the remaining three units going to the PGB.

Gov. Roque explained that the aforementioned Patient Transport Vehicles are only the first batch of units that the PGB intends to acquire for the barangays.

“This is only the first batch; we hope to have another batch next year. For the time being, we have 96 units that will be given to the barangays that require it the most. So, on behalf of the Bukidnon Provincial Government, the Governor’s Office, and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, we hereby give these Patient Transport Vehicles to our barangays,” Roque stated.

The Governor stated that the scheme is in accordance with the Universal Health Care Act and aims to improve the province’s healthcare system.

He stated that it is regarded to be one of the few that can deliver the best and most appropriate services to the people through a quality healthcare system that is comprehensive, fast, and free for those in need.

The Governor praised the SP, led by Vice Governor Clive Quiño, for making the program feasible by collaborating with the PGB’s working offices in the implementation of programs for the people.

Roque also thanked the municipal mayors for their assistance with this program.
