CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) 10 (Northern Mindanao) recognized four industries for full compliance with environmental laws in a statement released Wednesday, February 25, 2026

EMB-10 Director Reynaldo Digamo Jr. said that Crystal Sugar Company Incorporated in Bukidnon and Axelum Resources Corporation in Medina, Misamis Oriental, were honored for their exemplary environmental compliance.

The other two were the FDC Misamis Power Corporation in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, and Pilmico in Iligan City.

“These companies have never received a notice of violation from the bureau,” Digamo said.

Along with the Tuesday awards for environmentally compliant firms, the Mindanao Conference for Pollution Control Officers was held in this city and concluded on the same day.

The conference gathered 180 participants from both the private and government sectors across Mindanao.

It was organized by the Guardians of the Earth Association Incorporated in collaboration with EMB-10 under the theme “One Environment, One Goal: Strengthening Synergy through Knowledge, Compliance, and Collective Action.”

The conference also showcased key projects advancing environmental protection.

One of the most notable projects is the “Plastic Waste to Usable Materials” initiative by the local government unit of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, which has established a facility to convert waste plastics into usable products. (Ercel Maandig/PNA)
