MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon — Authorities have dismantled two alleged drug dens in
separate operations in Bukidnon, arresting seven people and seizing suspected methamphetamine
hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, and marijuana, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency
said in a statement.

The operations were conducted by the PDEA-10 Bukidnon Provincial Office with local police
and intelligence units in Manolo Fortich on September 4 and Dangcagan on August 22.
In Manolo Fortich, three people were arrested during a buy-bust operation at about 7 p.m. in
Purok Centro, Barangay Tankulan, according to PDEA Regional Director Alex M. Tablate.
Authorities seized five heat-sealed sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about 10.64
grams, with a standard market value of 72,352 pesos. They also recovered two packs containing

dried marijuana leaves, stalks and fruiting tops weighing about 17.48 grams and valued at
2,097.60 pesos.
Those arrested were identified only by their aliases as “Amo,” 33, described as the alleged drug
den maintainer; “An-an,” 20, identified as an alleged employee; and “Ap,” 36, described as an
alleged visitor. All are from Manolo Fortich.
In Dangcagan, four people were arrested during a separate operation at about 12:20 p.m. in
Barangay Kapalaran.
PDEA said operatives recovered seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing about five grams
and valued at 34,000 pesos, along with drug paraphernalia, drug-related equipment, a mobile
phone and the buy-bust money.
The suspects were identified as “Mak,” 36, the alleged drug den maintainer; “Chel,” 35; “Eke,”
29; and “Rex,” 33, all described as visitors to the alleged drug den.
The suspects in both operations face charges for alleged violations of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, 12 and
15 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PDEA said the operations form part of continuing inter-agency efforts to dismantle drug dens
and prevent the proliferation of illegal drugs in local communities.
The suspects remain entitled to due process and are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in
court. (melbmadera)
