MARAMAG, Bukidnon — As part of the 2025 National Rice Awareness Month (NRAM) celebrations, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-10), in partnership with Central Mindanao University (CMU), launched a hybrid rice production technology demonstration on November 7

The demonstration features the use of biofertilizers and soil ameliorants to promote sustainable rice production.

The project aims to assess the impact of various biofertilizer and soil ameliorant treatments on major rice diseases, evaluate growth performance and yield, and determine their effects on key soil parameters.

Covering 80 hectares, the techno-demo at CMU aims to boost rice productivity, improve soil health, and enhance climate resilience through innovative biofertilizers and soil ameliorants.

Of the total area, 19 hectares are dedicated to biofertilizers, 12.5 hectares to soil ameliorants, while the remaining area showcases CMU’s own technology demonstration. (DA-10/melbmadera)
