Kauban sab niya ang mga partner sa maong programa nga gikan sa Provincial Nutrition Committee nga gipangunahan ni Co-Chairman Dr. Gary Guido Tabios, mga Municipal Nutrition Action Officers, health officers, mga representante gikan sa Division of Malaybalay ug Valencia, DOST ug sa mga pribadong partners niini.

 

Gitinguha nga makadawat sa sustansyadong pagkaon ug gatas ang mga pinili nga bata gikan sa Kinder hangtud sa Grade-6.

 

Tumong aron makalahutay sa pag-skwela ug dili mamahimong babag ang kagutom.

RDC-10 economic dev’t committee approves DA-10 2025 proposed budget

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (March 03, 2024/PIA) — The Economic Development Committee of the Regional Development Council (RDC)-10 approved the P20.32 billion proposed budget of the Department of Agriculture (DA)-10 for the year 2025 on February 20

DA-10 Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado said 24 percent of the said budget is proposed under Tier 1 of the 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA), while the remaining 76 percent will be lodged under Tier 2.

 

As part of its priority programs for 2025, DA-10 seeks to fund catalytic projects such as farm-to-market road development; agricultural machinery, equipment, and facilities support services; irrigation network services; production support services; Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD); metropolitan and agri-based products cluster approach; corn processing center expansion; and biosecurity and climate-resilient production facilities.

 

According to Collado, the proposed budget is a product of consultative planning, encompassing the needs and priorities of the agricultural stakeholders in the region.

 

“We craft the budget using a bottom-up approach. The projects we propose are mainly based on the endorsement of the LGUs and the validated intentions we received from farmers’ cooperatives and associations in the region,” Collado said.

 

Statutory appropriation for gender and development, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and the youth, capacity development programs, and capacity building for devolved functions and services (Mandanas-Garcia ruling implementation) are also among the programs proposed for funding by the agency in 2025.

 

Under the proposed budget, DA-10 also seeks to complete the construction of its regional office, upgrade its research facilities, and establish a new integrated laboratory complex in the region.

 

This year, DA-10 secured a 19 percent GAA-approved budget from the RDC-10-endorsed budget proposal. (DA-10/PIA-10)

Town engineer survives slay try

MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon (March 06, 2024) – A town engineer of Cabanglasan, Bukidnon, escaped death when she was shot inside the Municipal Engineering Office afternoon on March 4, 2024

The legal-age female victim got a gunshot wound to her right forearm.

 

She was taken to Cabanglasan Municipal Health Office for medical treatment before being referred to Bukidnon Provincial Medical Center (BPMC) in Malaybalay City for additional care.

 

Police Major Dino M. Cuevas, OIC of Cabanglasan Municipal Police Station (CMPS), stated in his report that the suspect was a male Foreman of legal age.

 

Report said the suspect proceeded to the Municipal Engineering Office and saw the victim in the pantry area, at which point he uttered threatening words.

 

The victim and her colleagues ran to evade while the culprit discharged his unknown caliber handgun, hitting the victim’s right forearm.

 

After the incident, the suspect immediately fled away.

 

However, at around 8:00 p.m. on the same day, the suspect voluntarily surrendered himself to Cabanglasan MPS.

 

The suspect is now in the custody of Cabanglasan MPS. (Diego M. Hidalgo)

 

 

NorMin police awards 13 lady officers for field achievements

 

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (March 04, 2024) – The Police Regional Office in Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) on Monday awarded 13 women officers for their respective achievements.

 

In line with the celebration of National Women’s Month this March, the PRO-10 recognized female police achievers under four categories.

 

Receiving the Medalya ng Kadakilaan (Medal of Excellence) were Corporals Cheryl Jacob and Cherry Ann Litub.

 

On the other hand, the Medalya ng Kasanayan (Medal of Skills) was given to Major (Maj.) Maricris Neri, Captain (Cpt.) Maritel Ocon, and Lieutenant (Lt.) Nera Cabrera.

 

The Medalya ng Papuri (Medal of Commendation) were awarded to Colonel (Col.) Michelle Arban, Lt. Col. Estela Chavez, Maj. Jiselle Ester Lou Longakit, Cpt. Emilita Simon, Lt. Ruby Jimenez, and Chief Master Seargent (CMSgt.) Ritzell Labadan.

 

Meanwhile, CMSgt. Julie Ann Won and Staff Sgt. Michelle Apao received the Medalya ng Ugnayang Pampulisya (Police Relations).

 

As a special guest, Gilda Go, governor of Rotary International District 3870, emphasized the evolving role of women in society, highlighting their capacity not only within the confines of their homes but across the entire nation.

 

“I am committed to amplifying the voices of women, to breaking down barriers, and to championing gender equality in all its forms,” she said during her speech.

 

Anti-drug bust campaign

 

In another development, Brig. Gen. Ricardo Layug Jr., the PRO-10 director, said an estimated PHP1.8 million worth of illegal drugs were seized from 80 operations in the region from Feb. 22 to 28.

 

The operations resulted in the arrest of 84 individuals and the confiscation of approximately 272.891 grams of shabu and 2.54 grams of marijuana.

 

“We will continue to intensify our operations against illegal drugs, gambling, and other criminal activities. Together, let us build a region where everyone can live, work, and do business,” he said.

 

On anti-illegal gambling, PRO-10 police stations conducted nine operations, resulting in the apprehension of 17 individuals and the confiscation of PHP2,945 worth of illegal gambling items.

 

In neutralizing wanted persons, PRO10 also apprehended a total of 81 wanted individuals.

 

In addition to the campaign against loose firearms under “Kontra Boga,” PRO10 conducted 52 operations that led to the arrest of 15 individuals and the seizure of 38 small arms and two light weapons. (Nef Luczon/PNA)

Nunot kini sa makanunayon nga paningkamot sa lokal nga Pangagamhanan sa Malaybalay nga masiguro ang kalimpyo ug kahapsay sa kalikopan.

Sumala sa kasayoran sa kagamhanang lokalsa Malaybalay, ang evaluation napatuman subay sa direktiba ni Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran.

Gisuta sa evaluating team nga gibahin sa duha ka grupo niadtong Pebrero 1-23, 2024 ang 46 ka barangay kabahin sa kinatibuk-ang kalimpyo sa palibot pinaagi sa ilang lakang ug stratehiya nga nahimo.

Dugang pa, nahatagan usab og importansya ang pagmugna sa communal garden basi sa ordinansa 1016 s. 2023 ug ingon man ang ordinansa 668 mahitungod sa responsable nga pagpanagiya sa kahayopan.

Gisuta usab ang aktibo nga partisipasyon sa komunidad labi sa pag-atiman sa palibot, gulayan sa barangay ug panimalay, pagpatukod sa material recovery facility ug nursery, recycling activities, landscaping, tree planting, pag-amuma sa tree park ug paglikay sa galatagaw nga kahayopan sa publikong lugar.

Malaybalay City hosts 1st region-wide swine artificial insemination training

The first region-wide training on Swine Artificial Insemination (AI) reached its successful conclusion on September 22, 2023, at the Veranda in Casisang, Malaybalay City. The event brought together a total of 27 participants hailing from various localities within Region 10, making it a significant milestone for the local livestock industry

Key participants in this initiative included the City Veterinarian, the City Veterinary Office Livestock Production Section, and the Administrative Training Committee. Also in attendance were Regional and Provincial AI Coordinators, as well as members of the ATI Training Management Team.

This event exemplifies the spirit of collaboration and knowledge sharing among stakeholders, charting a brighter future for the region’s agricultural sector. Dr. Michele C. Miquiabas, the City Veterinarian, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to lead this endeavor and recognized its potential to enhance the regional livestock sector.

Dr. Omar T. Cahanap, Livestock Veterinarian, took pride in the fact that Malaybalay City was the first in the Philippines to host an entire region, generously sharing its technical expertise. He stated, “Indeed, Malaybalay City is a catalyst of change. Saka Ta Malaybalay,” underscoring the city’s commitment to pioneering advancements in the industry.

Alexis I. Flores, A.I. Center Chief of Malaybalay, emphasized their dedication to extending knowledge beyond the city’s borders, asserting that knowledge should know no boundaries. Phil Rae M. Bonngo assured the participants of their support, saying, “We are here to help you and will guide you in establishing your own swine artificial insemination breeding centers.”

Jeric L. Cabatac, a Training Specialist from the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), emphasized that this marks only the beginning of numerous future collaborations between ATI and the City Veterinary Office of Malaybalay, highlighting their enduring commitment to advancing regional livestock practices.

Regional A.I. Coordinator Johnson Petalcurin highlighted the critical role that artificial insemination technology plays in addressing food sufficiency challenges posed by animal diseases.
