Valencia City receives award for pop, dev’t program

In a ceremony held at Chali Beach Resort in Cagayan de Oro City on November 16, 2023, the City of Valencia was honored with the 2023 Regional Kaunlarang Pantao Award for their exceptional efforts in advancing the Philippine Population and Development Program (PPDP)

The award, formerly known as the Rafael M. Salas Population and Development Award, is a recognition program organized by the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) to acknowledge the significant contributions of partners in achieving the goals and objectives of the PPDP.

Valencia City, known for its commitment to improving the lives of its residents, secured First Place in the City Level category.

The city was presented with a plaque of recognition and a cash prize of P40,000 in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

Furthermore, the Population and Development Division of the City Social Welfare and Development Office was also acknowledged for its efforts in implementing a functional Information and Service Delivery Network for the Adolescent Health and Development Program.

Population Program Officer III, Ms. Ruby A. Revilla, and Social Welfare Assistant, Ms. Hanilyn M. Canato, were individually recognized and awarded plaques for their dedication and commitment to the implementation of the PPDP and Adolescent Health Program in Valencia City.

This remarkable achievement serves as a testament to the unwavering support of the City Government, led by City Mayor Azucena P. Huervas, in empowering the Filipino people, particularly the Valencianos. (PR)

Gitawag ni Provincial Governor Rogelio Neil P. Roque ang mga BSPO ug β€œlocal heroes of Bukidnon” nga sa ilang pag-alagad sa katawhan, usa kini ka ehemplo nga serbisyo sa gobyerno nga tinud-anay ug angayan hatagan sa dakong pasidungog sa ilang maayong buhat sa komunidad.
Gipasidunggan usab sa gobernador ang mga awardee sa Best Practice in 3 program components, nga mao ang: Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RPFP) ni Eliza M. Dumagpi, Population Program Officer (PPO)-I sa Cabanglasan; Adolescents Health and Development ni Pascual M. Sale, PPO-1 sa Sumilao; ug Population & Development (POPDEV) Integration ni Regina H. Abad, PPO-I sa Kitaotao.
Isip keynote speaker, gipaabot ni 4th District Representative Laarni Roque ang iyang dakong pasalamat ug pag-aghat ngadto sa tanang BSPO sa pagpadayon sa ilang mga maayong buhat nga gipakita ug pagpakabana sa katawhan.
Gitunol usab ang pasidungog ngadto sa Awardees of 2023 Rafael M. Salas Kaunlarang Pantao Award ngadto sa nagkadaiyang LGU nga nakuha sa lungsod sa Sumilao isip 1st place, gisundan dayon sa mga lungsod sa Malitbog, Kitaotao, Cabanglasan ug Maramag. Sa Barangay Population Volunteers Category, 1st place ang Don Carlos, 2nd place ang Dangcagan, sunod ang Kitaotao, Maramag ug Lantapan. Nahimong regional winner sa Kaunlarang Pantao Award si Jeraldine Magsayo, BSPO President kinsa mao usab ang mamahimong representante sa probinsya ngadto sa national level nga ipahigayon karong umaabot Nobyembre 23, 2023. Sa maong okasyon, adunay dance contest nga gipahigayon diin nakuha sa LGU-Cabanglasan ang 1st place, gisundan sa LGU-Damulog, ug LGU- Sa Fernando sa 3rd place kung aha ang ilang representante usab ang nahimong Miss BSPO 2023.

Tumong sa maong kalihukan ang paghatag og dugang impormasyon kalabot sa nagkalain-laing polisiya ug direksyon sa pagsuporta ug pagpatuman sa programa sa Philippine Population and Development Plan.

Learning package for parents to strengthen knowledge on adolescent sexuality, other health-related concerns

The City Health Office – Population & Development (POPDEV) of Malaybalay conducted β€œLearning Package for Parents’ Education (LPPeD)” class on March 9, 2023, at Barangay 1, Malaybalay City

It was attended by 14 parents together with the barangay health worker, barangay population volunteer, and the assigned midwife.

The 1-day activity was designed in order for parents to be equipped with the necessary knowledge on adolescent sexuality and other health-related concerns. Further, it was also intended for couples especially parents with adolescent children.

It aims to highlight the role of parents as the primary source of accurate and sound information on the subject as they prepare their children to become responsible adults and citizens of the community.

The program envisions reinforcing the bond between the parents and their children. It captures full understanding and appreciation of the importance of communication, and family relationships along with their adult children.

LPPeD is one of the demand generation activities under the Adolescent Health and Development program of the Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM). (PR)
