MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon – In partnership with the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), the Provincial Government of Bukidnon successfully conducted the release of Provincial Livelihood Financial Assistance for former members of the New People’s Army (NPA) at the Covered Court, Barangay Poblacion, Quezon, Bukidnon, on March 18, 2026
A total of 115 beneficiaries, also known as friends rescued under the jurisdiction of the 89th Infantry (MAKATAO) Battalion, Philippine Army, each received ₱15,000, totaling ₱1,725,000.
According to the 89IB, this financial aid serves as start-up or supplemental capital for livelihood projects, supporting the beneficiaries’ transition toward productive and peaceful lives within their communities. In addition, food packs from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) were distributed to meet their immediate daily needs.
The 89IB further noted that the initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to promote peacebuilding, provide meaningful second chances, and improve the quality of life for those who have chosen the path of reform. Through sustained collaboration, Bukidnon continues to stand as a model of a peaceful, resilient, and progressive province.
Key officials and stakeholders who attended the activity included Col. Franklin M. Garcia, executive officer of the 1003rd Infantry (Raptor) Brigade; Lt. Col. Antonio G. Bulao I, commander of the 89th Infantry Battalion; Mayor Pablo Lorenzo III of Quezon; Atty. Gean Yvish R. Ladesma, provincial legal officer representing the Provincial Government of Bukidnon; Ms. Angelou Kaye Laureto, head of the PSWDO Halfway House; and Ms. Clarence Lynn T. Makinano, MLGOO of Quezon.
