MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon — Bukidnon Governor Rogelio Neil P. Roque called on
residents to remain united and resilient as the province celebrated its 112th Founding
Anniversary on Sept. 1

In his anniversary message, Roque highlighted the strength of Bukidnon residents in overcoming
challenges throughout the province’s history, attributing its progress to the people’s resilience,
hard work, cooperation, and shared commitment to development.
With the theme, “112 Years of Resilience: Standing Firm, Moving Forward as a Unified
Bukidnon,” the governor said the anniversary was not only a celebration of the province’s past
but also a reminder of its direction for the future.
Roque cited the progress made in key sectors, including infrastructure, agriculture, tourism,
healthcare, education, peace and order, and local community development.
He also emphasized the importance of protecting Bukidnon’s natural resources and preserving its
culture and heritage, particularly the traditions and identity of its Indigenous Cultural
Communities.
The governor urged farmers, workers, entrepreneurs, professionals, government employees,
young people, and other sectors of society to contribute to the province’s continued development.
He said the achievements of Bukidnon are not the work of a single leader, office, or
administration, but the result of communities working together toward a common goal.
Roque also underscored the spirit of the provincial government’s One Bukidnon Agenda, which
seeks to promote cooperation among the province’s different communities, cultures, cities, and
municipalities.
“Nagkalain-lain man kita, apan naghiusa kita alang sa Bukidnon,” Roque said, emphasizing that
despite their differences, Bukidnons share one home and one future.
As the province moves forward, Roque called on residents to strengthen agriculture and local
industries, create more opportunities, protect the environment, preserve cultural heritage, and
build communities that can provide a better future for the next generation.

He said the challenges ahead may continue, but Bukidnon’s history has shown what its people
can accomplish when they stand and work together.
Roque closed his message by calling for continued unity in building a stronger, more
progressive, resilient, and united Bukidnon for generations to come. (melbmadera)
