VALENCIA CITY, Bukidnon — The number of centenarians in Bukidnon continues to rise, with
56 registered beneficiaries in the province, 34 of whom are still living.

In a Facebook Post, the Provincial Government of Bukidnon said data from the Provincial Social
Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) show that the number of registered centenarians has
steadily increased over the past three years.
Bukidnon recorded 31 centenarians in 2024, followed by 16 additional registrations in 2025.
Nine more centenarians have been registered so far this year, bringing the total to 56.
Among those currently living are five centenarians who have reached 106 years old, including
three women and two men.
On September 2, four centenarians from Valencia City received ₱50,000 each and food packs
from the Provincial Government of Bukidnon as assistance for their needs in old age.
The beneficiaries were Julia Lacre, 100, of Kibalaan, Barangay Guinuyuran; Patricia Sanjurjo,
103, of Purok 9, Barangay Batangan; Alejandro Maghinay, 106, of Purok 1, Barangay Mabuhay;
and Carmellina Villas, 101, of Purok 1, Barangay Sugod.
Governor Rogelio Neil Oneil Roque personally turned over the assistance to the four
centenarians.
The provincial government said the cash incentive is part of its support for senior citizens,
particularly those who have reached 100 years old.
With the continued increase in the number of centenarians, Bukidnon is also highlighting the
welfare and needs of its growing elderly population, while recognizing those who have reached a
remarkable milestone of longevity. (melbmadera)
