DSWD distributes 5K food packs to flood-hit Bukidnon families

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Northern Mindanao (DSWD-10) distributed 5,000 food packs to families in Bukidnon hit by the recent flooding and landslide

In a statement on June 27, 2023, DSWD-10 said it had dispensed food packs and other relief items to 5,100 families or 25,050 individuals in Malaybalay City.
DSWD spokesperson and Assistant Secretary Romel Lopez said the agency will continue pre-positioning food and non-food items to ensure an immediate response.
“We assure the public that the DSWD has enough funds and available relief goods,” he said.
DSWD-10 Director Ramel Jamen, for his part, noted that the regional office has more than PHP93.4 million worth of stockpile of food and non-food items and standby funds.
As of June 27, the agency’s field reports indicated 10,657 families or 50,878 persons affected by weather disturbances in the provinces of Bukidnon and Lanao del Norte.
Meanwhile, 1,500 indigent residents of Bonifacio town, Misamis Occidental, benefited from the cash assistance distribution of Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay (KKB)-Cash for Work Program.
Each beneficiary received PHP2,190 as a result of working for six days.
Governor Henry Oaminal said the provincial government is committed to giving continuous assistance to vulnerable sectors in Bonifacio in partnership with DSWD.
“This fund came from the national government. Kalahi-CIDSS (Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services) which is a program under DSWD,” he said. (Nef Luczon/PNA)

Ang Malaybalay centenarian nailang si Victoria Doliente Bulasa, kinsa gianak niadtong Disyembre 23, 1921. Samtang ang Valencia centenarian giilang si Carlos Cataloña Silva kinsa nagsaulog sa iyang ika 100 ka tuig niadtong Marso 29, 2023, isa ka World War II Veteran.

Si Silva nakadawat og dugang P50,000.00 gikan sa City Government sa Valencia.

Ang maong gasa natunol niadtong Marso 29, 2023 sumala sa pahibalo sa Malaybalay ug Valencia City Social Welfare Development Office.

Ang matag pinoy kinsa naka abot sa edad 100 ka tuig adunay katungod nga makadawat sa award ubos sa Republic Act 10868, nga nailhan usab nga “Centenarian Act of 2016.”

Giaprobahan na sa Sangguniang Panlungsod ang Resolution Nos. 2023-0283 mao ang Memorandum of Agreement tali sa City Government of Malaybalay ug Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Regional Field Office 10 mahitungod sa pag implementar sa livelihood program

Base sa pahibalo sa lokal nga panggamhanan, kaniadtong Marso 3, 2023, si Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran nag endorso ngadto sa SP uban sa paghangyo nga siya pagatugutan sa pagsulod sa isa ka kasabutan mahitungod sa nasangpit nga programa.

Tumong ug tinguha sa programa nga matabangan og mapalambo ang panginabuhian sa katawhan labi na sa mga kabus dinhi sa dakbayan.

DSWD prepositions food packs in N. Mindanao with El Niño threat

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Northern Mindanao Region (DSWD-10) prepositioned Friday 34,518 family food packs (FFPs) amounting to PHP23.4 million amid the looming drought-induced El Niño season

In a statement last March 24, the DSWD-10 said the FFPs delivered to local government units (LGUs) in the region as reserved supply in case calamities will occur.

The agency said the FFPs form part of the disaster management protocols for LGUs to provide augmentation to communities and families in need.

The FFPs also serve as an addition to the 400 metric tons or 10,000 bags of milled rice donated by the South Korean government earlier this week.

The donated rice from Korea will be distributed to DSWD offices in the Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao, and Northern Mindanao.

In Northern Mindanao, DSWD-10 Undersecretary for Disaster Response Management Group Marco M. Bautista said the rice supply will be dispensed to the severely affected families by the shear line flooding last year.

“These are not only food donations but donations for life – as they will serve sustenance for families of the victims. Rest assured that this will be given and distributed to the affected families,” he said.

Base sa pahibalo sa lokal nga panggamhanan, sulod sa maong tahas, pagatutukan ug hatagan og masustansyang pagkaon ang mga bata nga undernourished sa dili moubos sa 120 ka adlaw.
