Mapawa Rodeo Team rules Kaamulan Rodeo 2024

MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon (March 26, 2024) – The Mapawa Rodeo Team was the overall winner of the Kaamulan Rodeo 2024

The squad outsmarted 21 other teams in the two-day competition, which took place on March 23-24, 2024, in Impasugong Central Elementary School Grounds, Poblacion, Impasugong, Bukidnon.

 

Mapawa Rodeo Team won two of the eight events: rope & tie and carambola.

 

Tied as first runner-up were Wang-Wang Rodeo Team and Impasugong Rodeo Team.

 

Meanwhile, LGU-Sumilao Rodeo Team and Valencia City Rodeo Team finished tied as second runer-up.

 

In Bull Riding, Impasugong Rodeo Team took the first place, followed by Valencia City Rodeo Team and Wang-Wang Rodeo Team.

 

Impasugong Rodeo Team finished second to Mapawa Rodeo Team in Rope & Tie, with LGU Libona Rodeo Team taking third.

 

LGU Sumilao Rodeo Team took first position in Steer Wrestling, followed by LGU Libona Rodeo and Impasugong Rodeo Team.

 

In Carambola, Saddles and Pines Ranch was next to Mapawa Rodeo Team, and Umalag Farm came in third.

 

The Wang-Wang Rodeo Team led in Calf Underscoring, followed by the Mapawa Rodeo Team and the JFR Vaqueros Bravos Rodeo Team.

 

The Herdsman Valencia Rodeo Team finished first in Breakaway Roping, followed by the DMPI Rodeo Team and the LGU Sumilao Rodeo Team.

 

Valencia City Rodeo Team won Team Roping, while LGU Sumilao Rodeo Team came in second, followed by Mapawa Rodeo Team.

 

Lastly, in Barrel Roping, the JFR Vaqueros Bravos Rodeo Team won first place, followed by Wang-Wang Rodeo Team and Zubros Rodeo Team in second and third place.

 

Meanwhile, two special awards were given.

 

Hajil Abriol of the Mapawa Rodeo Team was crowned Rodeo King, while Mary Umpay of the Wang-Wang Rodeo Team was named Rodeo Queen.

 

Bukidnon is known as the “home of the country’s finest cowboys.”

 

Large audiences gather during Kaamulan to watch the province’s bravest and best cowboys and cowgirls compete in rodeo.

 

On the opening day of the event, Provincial Governor Rogelio Neil P. Roque welcomed the spectators.

 

Bukidnon 2nd District Representative John Keith Flores, Impasugong Mayor Anthony Uy, and Dapitan City Mayor Seth Frederick “Bullet” Jalosjos were among the government leaders who attended one of the most popular events in Kaamulan.

Gisugdan na ang pagpabarog sa View Deck ug Board Walk project sa Kaamulan complex. Sumala sa kasayoran, ang proyekto nga nagsugod na niadtong Enero 12, 2024, iya sa Provincial Government of Bukidnon (PGB).

Mikabat sa ₱9,979,458.28 ang pondo sa proyekto nga nagsumikad sa 20 percent Development Fund sa PGB.

Kini ipahimutang sa likod sa Capitol Main Building sa Capitol Compound, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

Ang proyekto ipatuman pinaagi sa pagdumala sa Provincial Engineering Office (PEO).

21st AFC Congress: Tapok Mag-uuma 2023 gipahigayon

Ang City Agriculture Office (CAgO) sa pakigtambayayong sa City Agriculture and Fishery Council (CAFC) nagsaulog sa ika-21 ka tuig sa AFC congress niadtong Oktubre 18, 2023 sa Kaamulan Folk Arts Theatre, Malaybalay City

Ang kalihokan nagdala sa tema “Saka Ta Agri-preneurs.”

Ang tinuig nga kalihokan mihatag og dungog ug pag-ila sa mga paningkamot ug bililhong kontribusyon sa mga mag-uuma sa dakbayan. Mao usab kini ang higayon nga maipakita sa Malaybalay Agri-preneurs ang ilang produkto ug negosyo.

Ang Tapok Mag-uuma 2023 gisugdan sa isa ka motorkada ug gisalmotan sa 459 ka partisipante nga gilangkuban sa BAFC Chairperson matag barangay, duha ka miyembro matag sektor, ug mga empleyado sa CAgO.

Nahimong awardee ang 4H Youth Interns gikan sa Taiwan nga sila si: Mr. Jason Gonzales sa Barangay Linabo ug Mr. Randy Donque sa Barangay Imbayao.

Pasidungog ang naangkon gikan sa atong certified organic farmers nga sila si: Ms. Francis B. Malatamban sa Anpas Farm, Simaya, Ms. Everly G. Ampalaya sa Green Wonder Farm, Sinanglanan, ug Mr. Reynaldo Gil G. Lomarda sa Umanika Farm, Barangay 10.

Dungan nga kompetisyon ang napahigayon para sa 4H ug RIC. Ang 4H winners mao sila si Mr. Khiersten Abyin Calderon sa Barangay Bangcud alang sa Poster Making Contest, Mr. Greggy Amarga sa Barangay Bangcud alang sa Dish Gardening, ug Dalwangan National High School alang sa Mini Blog. Ang Provincial Government sa Bukidnon nipahibalo nga gipasabot sa Valencia Airsoft Practical Shooter (VAPS) ug Philippine Shooters and Match Officers Confederation (PSMOC), kinsa mao ang tigpasiugda ug nagpaluyo niini, nga ang maong aktibidad gipahigayon aron mahatagan og tukmang kahibalo ang mga manunula, ilabi na ang kabataan sa angay ug dili angayang buhaton kung mag gunit og pistula—airsoft man kini o tinuod, ingon man makabaton sa disiplina, aron malikay sa posibleng peligro niini.

Bb. Bukidnon pageant director says sorry for ‘provocative’ photos of candidates

MALAYBALAY CITY (MindaNews / 14 April) — The director of this year’s Bb. Bukidnon beauty pageant has issued an apology over the photos of candidates showing them in poses and attire that some Lumad have deemed offensive to their culture

The pageant, formerly called Laga ta Bukidnon, is part of the ongoing Kaamulan, a festival featuring the seven tribes of Bukidnon province.

The candidates’ photos, which showed them wearing revealing attire in a bedroom setting, have been removed from the social media page of the pageant.

“We would like to apologize for the recent controversy that Bb. Bukidnon is facing. We understand that the photos of the candidates may have appeared daring and provocative to the public and may not have conformed to the traditional tribal types of pageant in honor of the Kaamulan festival,” pageant director Beatrice Eduave said in a statement posted Thursday on social media.

“We acknowledge that this has caused disappointment and frustration among those who hold the festival and pageant in high regard,” she said.

Eduave added that “whatever transpired during the photoshoots of Bb. Bukidnon was beyond the knowledge of Governor Oneil Roque, Vice Governor Clive Quino, and Kaamulan committee chair RJ Pepito.”

“They had no prior knowledge of the photoshoots and were not involved in any way,” she clarified.

She said she and her staff were taking full responsibility for the “oversight” and “will take steps to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.”

Talaandig Datu Amay Yi Iwag Linsahay, in a Facebook post on Thursday, said that since there has been “an admission of offense against the customs and traditions” the issue should be resolved in accordance with customary law, although not necessarily with all the seven tribes.

“For the time being, please note that the closure and resolution of the issue require ‘panul-id’ ceremony (restorative justice) to be determined by the bearers and custodians of traditions of this beautiful homeland,” he said.

Responding to Linsahay’s post, Loreta Sol Dinlayan, a Bukidnon and professor at Bukidnon State University said it must be explained that “panul-id” is not a penalty but a “healing ritual” for what was “disturbed”.

“It is an act of justice to ensure the spiritual health of Bukidnon,” she added.

Like in the previous years, this year’s Bb. Bukidnon featured the candidates in two-piece swimsuits but nobody has publicly raised an issue against it.
