Valencia celebrates 2023 Cooperative Month

The City Government of Valencia, through the City Cooperative Office and the City of Valencia Cooperative Development Council (CVCDC), joyfully celebrated the 2023 Cooperative Month on October 12, 2023, at the City Hall Covered Court

The event featured a variety of free wellness services and contests, participated by members from various cooperatives in the city.

Mary Grace Vapor, Cooperative Development Specialist II of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region 10, graced the event as the keynote speaker. She delved into this year’s theme, “Cooperatives: Pioneering the Path to Recovery Amidst Modern Challenges of Climate Change and Food Security,” shedding light on the pivotal role played by cooperatives in addressing urgent global issues and promoting community development.

City Mayor Azucena Huervas also conveyed her message of support through Jun Hermosura, Executive Assistant IV—additionally, Edgar Noveno, Chairman of CVCDC, Engr. Sa pahibalo sa LGU Valencia, ang selebrasyon malipayon nga gisaulog sa grupo sa mga Senior Citizens gikan sa 31 ka barangay sa dakbayan.

Gi-selebrar kini sa pagpanguna sa Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) ug City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO.

Sumala sa Proclamation No. 470 s. 1994, ang dakbayan nag-obserbar sa Elderly Filipino Week matag tuig.

Ang ulohan sa selebrasyon karong tuiga mao ang “‘Honoring the Invaluable Legacy of Filipino Senior Citizens”.

Ang centenarian giila nga si Lola Patricia Pedroza Sanjurjo kinsa residente sa Purok-9, Barangay Batangan, Valencia City.

Sumala sa pahibalo sa LGU Valencia, si Lola Patricia bag-o lamang nagselebrar sa iyang ika-100 nga panuigon niadtong bulan sa Agosto.

Nasayran nga isa sa programa sa LGU Valencia ang paghatag sa nasangpit nga benepisyo alang sa mga centenarian.

OneRicePH held in Valencia

VALENCIA CITY, BUKIDNON – The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10) through its Research Division, conducted recently a field day on OneRicePH: Expanded On-farm Technology Demonstration for the wet season, in Barangay Kahapunan

According to PhilRice Central Office representative Pinklet Athen Canilang, OneRicePH is a collaborative project of the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice), International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), DA, and the local government units (LGUs) to unify rice breeding dissemination strategies that will increase genetic gain and improve grain quality and nutrition.

“The project aims for the development of a product concept for target rice market segments and the establishment of a national breeding network,” she said.

With a total area of 5.1 hectares implemented by co-operators, comprising of a seed grower and three farmers, said techno demos showcased inbred rice varieties such as NSIC Rc 512, NSIC Rc 506, and NSIC Rc 508, which are intended for irrigated lowland ecosystem.

The performance of the said varieties as a result of also employing optimum nutrient management and associated rice cultivation technologies, was witnessed and evaluated by farmer representatives of the different 13 Irrigators’ Associations in the city.

Initially, the results of the participatory varietal selection were presented, yielding higher results compared to the targeted 7.50 tons per hectare.

Maridith A. Flores, senior science research specialist and OneRicePH focal person of DA-10 remarked that the activity also paves the way to showcase the benefits of using recommended rice varieties and their yield potential, streamlining the country’s rice breeding strategies and variety dissemination.

Likewise, supporting the activity are Research Division chief Lorena V. Duna and Provincial Operations Center-Bukidnon chief Janet D. Lopez, DVM of DA-10, Mayor Azucena P. Huervas, City Councilor Rogelio P. Hera, committee on agriculture, and other City LGU Valencia officials and staff. (DA RFO-10

Malampusong napahigayon ang Criminology Licensure Examination didto sa dakbayan sa Valencia niadtong Agosto 25-27, 2023

Ang tulo ka adlaw nga eksaminasyon gipahigayon sa tunghaan sa Valencia City National High School, kini base sa pahibalo sa City Government of Valencia.

Matod sa pahibalo nga niabot sa 61 ka examinees gikan sa lain-laing lugar ang nagparehisto para sa maong eksaminasyon.

Apan, 59 lang ang nakahuman sa Licensure Examination.

GAD Focal Point System Executive Committee Holds Quarterly Meeting to Strengthen Gender-Responsive Policies

The GAD Focal Point System Executive Committee convened at the City Mayor’s Conference Room, City Hall compound, last August 30, 2023, marking a significant step towards enhancing gender-responsive policies and uplifting city services. Atty chaired the meeting. Genaro Cadigal Jr., the City Administrator, represents Mayor Azucena P. Huervas

The executive committee’s quarterly meeting served as a platform to review various initiatives’ midyear accomplishments and progress.

The city administrator led discussions on the ongoing projects aimed at improving the lives of Valencianos.

These initiatives encompassed diverse sectors, including security and healthcare for women and children, the amendment of the GAD Code, the establishment of a teen center, a child minding center, and many more.

As the GAD Focal Point System Executive Committee continues its endeavors, Valencia City remains poised to make significant strides toward a more inclusive and prosperous future. Sumala sa Pahibalo sa Local Government Unit sa Valencia, ang maong eksaminasyonal gipahigayon sa tunghaan sa San Agustin Institute of Technology (SAIT) ug Valencia National High School (VNHS).

Mapasalamaton ang LGU Valencia City sa Civil Service Commission (CSE) ingon man sa tunghaan sa SAIT ug VNHS sa ilang pakigtambayayong ug makanunayong pagsuporta nga mapahigayon ang maong exam.
