2 alleged fake gold bar sellers nabbed in Bukidnon

MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon – Two individuals allegedly involved in selling fake gold bars were arrested by police during an entrapment operation in Barangay Poblacion, Quezon, Bukidnon, on the afternoon of March 21, 2026

Authorities identified the suspects by their aliases “Jonel,” 29, and “Ronie,” 32, while three of their companions remain unidentified and at large.

 

Recovered from the suspects were two suspected fake gold bars, two cellular phones believed to have been used in the transaction, and two motorcycles.

 

Police said the operation was launched around 4:40 p.m. after a complainant reported to the Quezon Municipal Police Station a suspicious gold bar deal.

 

Acting swiftly, operatives led by the station chief conducted an entrapment operation and proceeded to the area.

 

Upon arrival, authorities spotted the suspects riding separate motorcycles and allegedly engaging in the transaction. They were immediately apprehended, and their identities were verified on site.

 

The suspects are now under the custody of the Quezon Municipal Police Station as authorities prepare to file appropriate charges against them. (melbmadera)
