MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon – The 89th Infantry Battalion “Makatao” Battalion, in partnership with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), facilitated the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) application and profiling of 37 former members of the New People’s Army (NPA), now referred to as “Friends Rescued,” at Sitio Meeealantao, Barangay Halapitan, San Fernando, on May 18, 2026

Second Lieutenant Maria A. Lorzano, Acting Civil-Military Operations Officer, together with
Second Lieutenant Mamer Oliverio, facilitated the activity by ensuring the presence of the
former rebels and maintaining security in the area.
Meanwhile, Ms. Teza B. Amor, E-CLIP focal person, along with representatives from DAR,
conducted the profiling and assessment of the applicants’ immediate needs and background
information.
In a statement, the 89IB said the profiling process would help concerned agencies identify the
appropriate government interventions for the former rebels, including financial assistance,
livelihood opportunities, agricultural support, psychosocial services, and other reintegration
programs.
Following the activity, the 37 “Friends Rescued” also received food packages as part of the
government’s continuing support for their transition back into peaceful and productive
communities.
The successful conduct of the E-CLIP application and profiling reflects the government’s
continuing commitment to peacebuilding and reintegration efforts in Bukidnon. Through the
collaborative initiatives of the 89IB and partner agencies, former rebels are given opportunities
to rebuild their lives and become productive members of society once again. (melbmadera)
