IMPASUGONG, Bukidnon — Local stakeholders pooled resources for Brigada Eskwela on June 2, turning over school supplies and repair materials to Capitan Bayong National High School and Elementary Extension in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s national educational unity campaign

This corporate-led donation by Hedcor Bukidnon, Inc., a subsidiary of Aboitiz Renewables,
aligns with the administration’s directive to maximize public-private partnerships in reinforcing
basic education.
Erickson Kent L. Pirante, Hedcor Bukidnon stakeholder relations and permitting supervisor, led
the turnover of P15,000 worth of teaching and learning packages to prepare students and faculty
members for the incoming school year.
“The company targets sustained education support and stronger community ties by channeling
corporate resources directly into grassroots needs,” Pirante said.
By equipping rural classrooms ahead of class openings, Pirante said the initiative brings national
policies into immediate, localized relief for schools facing resource gaps.
School Head Lou Vembou Dupeno thanked donors and volunteers for providing materials that
helped teachers prepare classrooms for the opening of classes.
“We are grateful to those who provided the materials needed to get our school ready for
Monday’s opening,” Dupeno said.
Department of Education (DepEd) Bukidnon Schools Division Superintendent Victoria V. Gazo
lauded the support.
“Maintaining public school facilities remains a shared community responsibility,” Gazo said.
Parent Derlyn Joy O. Sante welcomed the volunteer work, noting that campus upgrades spared
families from extra school expenses.
Sante said that stakeholder backing eases financial pressure on parents, giving families peace of
mind that classrooms are safe, clean, and fully prepared before children return to school.
DepEd’s annual Brigada Eskwela program mobilizes civic groups, private enterprises, and
government units to clean, repair, and prepare public schools nationwide through volunteerism
and resource-sharing. (BGE/PIA 10-Bukidnon)
