MARAMAG, Bukidnon – The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-10) and Central Mindanao University (CMU) have formalized a partnership to establish livestock multiplier farms worth PhP9.2 million under the Livestock Economic Enterprise Development (LEED) Program

Three Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) were signed on July 17, 2025, at the CMU campus, covering the development of swine (PhP5.6 million), duck (PhP3 million), and goat (PhP681,000) multiplier farms within the university grounds.

Leading the ceremonial signing were Jose Apollo Y. Pacamalan, DA-10 Regional Executive Director, and CMU President Dr. Rolito G. Eballe.

According to Jamaica L. Docdoc, focal person of the DA-10 Livestock Program, the initiative seeks to generate quality breeding stocks for eventual distribution to eligible beneficiaries as part of the agency’s livelihood and rural support initiatives.

“As agreed by DA-10 and CMU, once these farms produce their first batch of offspring, they will be distributed to our priority beneficiaries, particularly former rebels,” said Docdoc.

The LEED Program is one of the DA’s flagship initiatives aimed at advancing livestock-based enterprises, improving farmers’ incomes, and promoting inclusive, sustainable rural development. (melbmadera/CRS)
