CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (January 20, 2026, 8:25 pm) – Bukidnon province delivered more than PHP 181.7 million worth of new infrastructure to two of its municipalities, officials reported Tuesday
The provincial government turned over nine projects worth PHP 111.7 million to Talakag and five projects worth PHP 70 million to Baungon.
Most are farm-to-market roads and community buildings intended to spur economic activities.
Gov. Rogelio Roque said local consultation was key to the projects’ success.
“It’s important that municipal mayors are consulted and the barangays’ participation, because that is where these projects are implemented,” Roque said in an interview.
One project, the Dagumbaan-Cosina Road in Talakag, will drastically cut the 15-kilometer trip to the town center from hours (by tricycle) to just minutes.
Also Tuesday, Roque led the turnover of a new multipurpose gymnasium to Libona town.(Nef Luczon/PNA)
