MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon (09:43 PM March 14, 2026) — Frontline services at the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Revenue District Office No. 99 in Bukidnon will remain available from Monday to Friday even with the implementation of the four-day workweek as part of efforts to conserve energy amid rising global oil prices
The setup is implemented pursuant to Revenue Memorandum Order (RMO) No. 007-2026.
Under the arrangement, employees report onsite from Monday to Thursday, while Fridays are designated for WFH, according to Revenue District Officer Mampay Pangcoga.
The arrangement supports the national government’s energy conservation program following the issuance of Memorandum Circular No. 114 by Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., which temporarily implements a four-day workweek in government offices starting March 9.
The directive issued by the Office of the President covers national government agencies, government-owned and controlled corporations, local government units, constitutional bodies, state universities and colleges, and other government instrumentalities.
The policy is aimed at reducing fuel consumption and promote energy efficiency amid rising oil prices linked to tensions in the Middle East, while ensuring the continuous delivery of government services. (Mel N. Velez – @inquirerdotnet)
