Valencia City Mayor Azucena Huervas led the groundbreaking ceremony for constructing the Tourism Information and Assistance Center with relevant amenities at Mt. Anahawon, Sitio Sumpong, Barangay Banlag, on October 24, 2023

The upcoming facility, with a project cost of P7 million under the FY 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund, is poised to be a valuable addition to the city’s tourism infrastructure.

It will provide comprehensive information and support to visitors, create job opportunities in the community, and offer a warm welcome and guidance to tourists as they explore the breathtaking scenery of Mt. Anahawon, well-known for its sea of clouds.

Glenda Hope Beley, the Cluster Head of DILG Bukidnon, graced the event and commended the city government for its unwavering dedication to the project. Also present in the ceremony were Councilor Cecile Mabao-Caballero, Chair of the Committee on Tourism and Beautification, Councilor Sasang Cadigal-Recla, Councilor Mauricio Sistoso Jr., and Punong Barangay Robert Boje.
