MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon — In a major law enforcement operation, police seized a total of fifteen assorted handguns and high-powered firearms from an armed group in Purok 15, Butong, Quezon, Bukidnon, on August 7, 2025

According to the Bukidnon Police Provincial Office, authorities also recovered a significant cache of ammunition, hand grenades, battle dress uniforms, a pair of binoculars, and various personal belongings—underscoring the group’s potential threat to public safety.

The operation specifically targeted five identified male suspects, including their alleged leader, who was successfully apprehended by law enforcement personnel. The remaining four suspects remain at large and are being actively pursued by authorities to ensure they face justice.

During the operation, six additional males were arrested after being caught in the act of illegally possessing firearms while police executed search warrants—further highlighting the pervasive presence of illegal arms in the area.

The suspects have been identified as members of an armed group reportedly involved in various criminal activities across the region.

A separate source revealed that the group claims affiliation with the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), as evidenced by patches found on the recovered battle dress uniforms.
