Php 180M worth of various infra projects turnovers to SBDP brgy benefeciaries in Lantapan

DILG Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko, Ceso IV, and Provincial Director Rhona Pedraza-Abadilla together with the Provincial Local Government Unit represented by Provincial Engr. Albert D. Yulo led the joint turnover of the 14 infrastructure projects to the Nine (9) Beneficiary Barangays in the Municipality of Lantapan, last March 9, 2023

The said activity sets a remarkable milestone for the Province of Bukidnon for inaugurating a total of PhP180-Million worth of projects in Lantapan, with the highest completion rate at 100% among the beneficiary LGUs in the province.
The completed projects comprising Eight Local Access Roads, Four (4) Water Supply System, One (1) Health Station, and One (1) School Building demonstrates the seamless efforts of both LGUs and National Government Agencies, and most importantly it manifests effectively
monitoring and supervision as well as a higher degree of accountability among the stakeholders.
The successful event was made possible by the active involvement of the Local Government Unit of Lantapan through the able leadership of Municipal Mayor Ernie R. Devibar and the Municipal Engineering’s Office in collaboration with DILG Lantapan.
In his message, Mayor Devibar wholeheartedly expressed his appreciation to the national government for giving a significant amount for the implementation of their project. He further signifies the LGUs support in the repair and maintenance of the project. “Dako amoang pasalamat sa nadawat nga mga proyekto nga ge dapat sa siyam (9) ka mga

mga proyekto”, said Mayor Devibar.
Barangays of Alanib, Bantuanon, Basac, Cawayan, Kibanggay, Kulasihan, Capitan Juan, Songco, and Victory received PhP20Million each worth of funding for the implementation of their
priority projects to address primarily the development gaps and bring sustainable peace to formerly communist-infiltrated barangays.

The activity was also graced by the presence and congratulatory messages from partner line agencies represented by LTC Roger Anthony E Nuylan Jr INF (GSC) PA, Deputy Provincial
Director Col. Arce Yam-oc of PNP Bukidnon, Provincial Engineering Office, and Members of the beneficiary Barangay Council.
The SBDP is a result of the Retooled Community Support Program of DILG, a convergence mechanism of the government, particularly on the identification of the needed interventions at the barangay level, anchored in addressing efficient delivery of basic services to once communist-affected barangays. Si Gaguan, top 2 sa Regional PNP/PDEA List, 41, minyo, driver, former PNP member ug residente sa Purok-1, Sitio Kilabong, Barangay Vista Villa, Sumilao, Bukidnon. Siya nasikop sa maong lugar kaniadtong Enero 27, 2023.

Nakuha gikan sa posesyon ni Gaguan ang 15 garmo sa gidudahang shabu nga adunay estimated market value nga Php102,000.00.

Si Destor, sa laing bahin, Top 3 sa Regional PNP/PDEA List, 31, minyo, mag-uuma ug residente sa residente sa Butong, Quezon, Bukidnon. Siya naikop sa Everlasting Village, Poblacion, Pangantucan, Bukidnon kaniadtong Enero 30, 2023.

4 NorMin cops who tested positive for drug use face dismissal

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The chief of the Police Regional Office in Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) on January 18, vowed to dismiss police officers who tested positive for illegal drug use.

Brig. Gen. Lawrence Coop PRO-10 director, said four police officers are set to be dismissed for illegal drug use, the latest of whom is assigned to Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.

“We recorded this in 2022, and they will also face administrative charges,” he said during a media forum here, referring to the erring police officers.

Coop said most of the administrative cases in the region are related to the use of illegal drugs following the series of random and unannounced drug testing.

Drug testing will continue for this year, he said, noting that it has always been part of the internal operations of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

“The community wants to see a truly transformed PNP; a police service that is highly capable, effective, and credible; and a police force that can always be counted on at all times,” Coop said.

NorMin police, Army ready forces vs. poll-related violence

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (05 Oct. 2021) – Both the Police Regional Office (PRO) 10 (Northern Mindanao) and the Army’s 4th Infantry Division (4ID) have started readying their forces to monitor areas in the region that are prone to election-related violence.

Lt. Col. Fermin Armandarez III, chief of the PRO-10’s Operations Division, said via Zoom conference on Tuesday since the third quarter of 2021, regional officials have been in talks with provincial police directors and city police directors here and in Iligan City about the matter.

“As of now, we are gathering intelligence information as to the (possible) hotspots (in the region), to preempt election-related incidence,” he said.

Col. Michel Anayron, 4ID assistant commander, said when election season draws near, normally a strategic conference between the Army and police takes place to identify areas that need security support.

“We usually divide areas where the PNP (Philippine National Police) and AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) establish their presence. There will be areas led by the police, which will be supported by the Army (vice versa),” he said.

Anayron said Maj. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr., 4ID commander, has instructed Army field units in its area of responsibility to organize task forces to address the security concerns of the upcoming polls.

Meanwhile, Manuel Orduña, director of the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency -10, said President Rodrigo Duterte has issued a stern warning against political warlords, including the communist New People’s Army (NPA) with regards to election-related violence.

“The President wants a fair and honest election; groups like NPA who tend to meddle during elections (in the hinterland communities) are included, and should they continue (to cause disorder), they are warned to face the full force of the law,” he said.

Matud sa inisyal nga imbestigasyon sa Manolo Fortich Municipal Police Station, ang biktima nga si Julius Anlagan, naa sa gawas sa iyang balay, giduolan kini sa suspek og gitigbas gamit ang sundang sa walay igong rason.

Ang Biktima nakaangkon og samad tinigbasan sa liog ug kamot. Dali siya gidala sa Bukidnon Provincial Hospital Annex sa Manolo Fortich.

Bukidnon top cops support “No Take Policy” order

MALAYBALAY CITY (Fe. 14) – The leadership of Bukidnon Police Provincial Office (BPPO) and Bukidnon 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (1st PMFC) expressed their full support to the “No Take Policy” campaign of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Archie Francisco F. Gamboa.

Police Lt. Col. Silvetre Asiong Jr., BPPO Information Officer, and Lt. Col. Salvador Castillon Jr., force commander of Bukidnon 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company conveyed the same message at their respective office on Feb. 14.

Asiong reiterated that BPPO adhered and fully supported the campaign of Gen. Gamboa’s order against illegal gambling, illegal drugs, and other unscrupulous and dubious activity through the “No Take Policy,” in behalf of BPPO Chief Col. Roel L. Lami-ing.

“This is a reminder to all stations and force commanders down to the Patrolman/ Patrolwoman that we will not tolerate such acts, and they may face criminal and administrative sanctions,” Asiong said.

He also urged the public to report any PNP personnel involved in these corrupt practices to report it to the nearest police stations.

Asiong said the “No Policy Order” is part of the Internal Cleansing Campaign of the PNP.

AFP, PNP urge Bukidnon bizmen to report NPA extortion activities

IMPASUG-ONG, Bukidnon (Jan. 28/PIA) — Military and police authorities have urged businesses in Bukidnon province to report immediately any extortion schemes set up by the New People’s Army (NPA), the armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP).

In a meeting in Malaybalay City on Jan. 21 with business owners under the Bukidnon Lateral Organized for Development (BukLOD), the Army’s 8th Infantry Battalion (8IB) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) jointly presented a diagram on what to do if they receive a threat or demand for “revolutionary tax” from the NPA.

The diagram serves as a guide on preventing extortion and the best ways to respond to it. It illustrates the process of reporting and all other approaches in dealing with the extortionists.

The NPAs demand money from businesses through force or threat to finance their terroristic activities. They (NPA) called this “Revolutionary Tax.”

Lt. Col. Ronald Illana, 8IB commanding officer, said the NPA’s extortion activities have been the main problem of the government contractors as it delayed the completion of infrastructure projects in the province.

“We are urging everybody to help us stop the finance of the NPA by reporting and preserving all calls, text messages, and CCTV’s images because we need them to identify the suspects, report it to the nearest Army and PNP offices,” Illana said.
BukLOD president Doy Lopez, likewise, has called on the 21 members of his business group requesting them to display a tarpaulin on their establishments showing the “extortion guide,” including the police and military hotlines to stir awareness among its employees and the public.

BukLOD is a group of business companies organized since 2015 to help the province in realizing its vision for a stable and comfortable life.

“Being the president of this organization, I am encouraging everybody to help our Army and PNP. Do not be afraid to report and cooperate with them. It’s not only the NPAs who are doing extortion but there are other criminal groups and individuals also,” Lopez said. (8IB, PA/PIA)
