QUEZON, Bukidnon — The Quezon Health Center Infirmary continues to strengthen healthcare delivery through its integrated municipal health system, advancing the national government’s Bagong Pilipinas agenda to expand healthcare access

Established in 2022, the facility offers free checkups, admissions, medicines, laboratory and
radiology services, and animal-bite vaccinations to ease residents’ financial burden.
Data showed that in 2025 alone, the infirmary served 33,223 patients, administered 5,404
vaccinations, and delivered nearly 53,000 laboratory and radiology services.
These figures contributed to the 128,602 total admissions, outpatient, and emergency cases
managed by the facility since its inception.
Healthcare delivery at the community level is further supported by trained Barangay Health
Workers and fully equipped Barangay Health Stations, which handle basic consultations.
Cases requiring advanced medical attention are coordinated through the Municipal Health Office
for referral to the infirmary, while critical and specialized cases are transferred to partner private
hospitals.
To meet the community’s growing needs, the municipal government is constructing an extension
to expand the outpatient department and increase bed capacity.
The local government is also working to upgrade the infirmary into a Level 1 hospital to enhance
local medical services.
Municipal Administrator Lyle Justin Egay said this transition aligns with national efforts to
improve rural health facilities and decongest major regional centers.
“Our goal is to make quality healthcare accessible to every resident, ensuring our people receive
medical attention without worrying about the cost,” Egay said.
Beneficiary Angel Love Valles, 35, attested that the free services have significantly eased their
financial worries.
“Dako kaayo ni ug natabang sa amo kay libre man ang konsultasyon ug tambal. Dili na mi
maglisod pagpangita og kwarta para magpa-checkup. Dakong kahupayan kini para sa among
pamilya,” Valles said.
(This has helped us immensely because the consultation and medicine are free. We no longer
struggle to find money for checkups, which is a huge relief for our family.)
Mayor Pablo M. Lorenzo III said the planned Level 1 hospital reflects the local government’s
long-term commitment to providing better-equipped and more comprehensive medical care
within the municipality. (BGE/PIA-10/Bukidnon)
