Turnover, Blessing of new city gov’t vehicles, motorcycles held

The City General Services Office (CGSO) hosted the “Blessing for Newly Acquired Vehicles and Motorcycles of the City Government of Malaybalay” ceremony on September 21, 2023, at the City Hall’s parking lot. City Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran, along with esteemed officials from the Sangguniang Panlungsod, graced the occasion, marking another important event in the city’s public service

Mayor Pabillaran expressed his appreciation for the arrival of a new fleet of government vehicles, acknowledging the late Mayor Florencio Flores for initiating this significant move. He shared his hopes that these newly acquired vehicles would enhance and expand the services offered to the city’s constituents.

The event, attended by various department heads and distinguished guests, witnessed the blessing of 14 service vehicles and 11 motorcycles. Father Mariano Chia officiated the blessing ceremony.This milestone underscores Malaybalay City’s commitment in improving public services and fulfilling its mandate. The new vehicles and motorcycles are expected to enhance government efficiency, furthering the city’s mission of providing better and more accessible services to its constituents.

The breakdown of vehicle allocations is as follows:

Toyota Hilux Pick-up Trucks (5 units) are allocated to the City Agriculture’s Office, City Engineer’s Office, Office of the Building Official (OBO), Philippine National Police (PNP), and TMC.

Mitsubishi Strada Pick-up Trucks (4 units) allocated to the City Assessor’s Office, CDILG, City Veterinary Office, and Malaybalay City Government Water Supply System (MCGWSS); Toyota Innova designated for the City Administrator’s Office; Mitsubishi Montero SUV assigned to the City Health Office; Toyota Hi-Ace Transport Commuter Van turned over to the Barangay Government of Sto. Niño; and Toyota Avanza (2 units) allocated to SP Flores and SP Orquia.

Motorcycles were also distributed to various city offices: Honda CFT 125 (5 units) for OBO; Honda XR-150 (4 units) City Treasurer’s Office; Honda CRF to MCGWSS; and Honda Click to Parole and Probation Office. (LGU Malaybalay)

CGSO holds 2nd public auction of unserviceable items, equipment

The City General Services Office (CGSO), headed by Ms. Dioscora R. Niere, conducted the second Public Auction of Unserviceable Items and Equipment on July 28, 2023, at the City Engineer’s Compound

Previously, a Public Auction of the same properties was also held but deemed a failure since bidders raised no bids for the whole lot, which had a clustered minimum floor price of P1,490,220.64. The members of the Appraisal & Disposal Committees, Technical Working Group, staff, and guests took part in this significant event.

The Auction Sale was carried out on a per-lot basis, featuring six (6) lots of unserviceable equipment and properties, and was conducted through “Viva Voce.” The items auctioned include 1 lot of motorcycles worth P139,731.86; 1 lot of vehicles worth P1,105,078.78; 1 lot of various batteries worth P73,960.00; 1 lot of scrap iron worth P116,450.00; 1 lot of scrap plastic worth P30,000.00; and 1 lot of assorted tires worth P25,000.00.

Seven (7) bidders formally registered for the auction: Garcia Junk Shop, Matulla Vulcanizing, 3J Surplus, J.C. Scrap, Cez Junk Shop, U2, and RT. Unfortunately, 3J Surplus from Valencia City conceded before the auction started.

The first lot auctioned consisted of motorcycles, but no bids were raised for the floor price. The same happened with the second lot consisting of vehicles. Lot three (3), various batteries, was successfully sold to bidder number 1, Garcia Junk Shop of Valencia City, with a final price of P135,000.00. Lot four (4), scrap iron, was successfully sold to bidder number 4, J.C. Scrap of Cagayan de Oro City, for the final price of P164,000.00. Lot five (5), scrap plastic, was successfully sold to bidder number 5, Cez Junk Shop of Malaybalay City, with the final price of P51,000.00.

No bids were raised for the sixth and last lot of assorted tires. The committee proceeded to award the successful bidders immediately. The activity closed with a warm message from Ms. Bella Stephanie B. Saavedra, Assistant City Treasurer and a member of the Appraisal Committee. (LGU Malaybalay)

The City General Services Office (CGSO), led by Ms. Dioscora R. Niere, organized a Public Auction of Unserviceable Items/Equipment on June 30, 2023, at the City Engineer’s Compound. City Mayor Atty. Jay Warren R. Pabillaran attended the event, members of the Appraisal & Disposal Committee, Technical Working Group, staff, and guests, marking its significance

Mayor Pabillaran highlighted the importance of the public auction, citing the accumulation of unserviceable properties over time. He emphasized the need for a proper procedure to dispose of these items.

The Auction Sale consisted of six (6) lots of unserviceable equipment and properties, sold as one (1) cluster through a “Viva Voce” basis. The items included motorcycles, vehicles, various batteries, scrap iron, scrap plastic, and assorted tires, with a clustered minimum floor price of P1,490,220.64.

Two bidders participated in the auction, namely U2 Company from Maramag, Bukidnon, and VD Junkshop from Valencia City. Both bidders conceded their offers, thus concluding the public auction.

The committee responsible for the auction will be preparing for a second public auction to be announced at a later date. This upcoming auction aims to further dispose of unserviceable items and equipment.
