21 ka mag-uuma migraduwar sa farmers-field-school sa Organic Rice Production

Human sa mga bulan nga mabungahon nga buluhaton, naka-graduate na ang 21 ka mga mag-uuma sa Malaybalay City sa farmers-field-school sa Organic Rice Production

Sumala sa kasayoran, ang gradwasyon gipahigayon niadtong Disyembre 12, 2023 sa Lourdes Resort, Lunokan, Miglamin, Malaybalay City.

Sa mga naka-graduate, 15 kanila mga babaye ug unom mga lalaki.

Ang graduation ceremony gipangunahan ni City Mayor Atty. Jay Warren R. Pabillaran.

Diha sab sila Konsehal Alan Ryann O. Legaspi, chairperson sa committee on agriculture, Dr. Janeth Lopez, provincial operations center head sa DA Region X, Mr. Mark Anthony Lagamon, organic program coordinator, Vic Ian T. Alcontin, CAgO field operations division chief, Ms. Blecy Grace Mahilum kinsa representante ni Barangay Captain Alfonso A. Inocando, Barangay Kagawad Remy Castañares ug MAFSWISA Chairman Roland Ripoledon.

Mipaambit si Dr. Lopez sa iyang mensahe sa kamahinungdanon sa organic practices lakip na ang land health management, pest and disease control, ug organic fertilization nga makapaminos sa epekto sa kinaiyahan, makapalambo sa water and land conservation, ug ingon man sa biodiversity sa mga umahan.

Gipaabot niya nga sa umaabot ang organikong teknolohiya nga gitudlo magamit ug matudlo sa ubang mga mag-uuma.

Samtang si Lagamon miila sa inisyatiba sa City Government of Malaybalay sa pagpalambo sa Organic Agriculture ug nanghinaut nga ang mga partisipante mapasalamaton niini. Iyang giawhag nga magpraktis og organic farming kay anaa kanunay ang gobyerno nga mosuporta.

Si Mayor Pabillaran sa iyang mensahe naghisgot mahitungod sa environmental concerns nga
maporma ngadto sa isa ka palisiya sama sa mga yuta nga 18 porsyento sa bakilid o labaw pa nga gideklarar na nga alienable ug disposable ibalik sa klasipikasyon sa mga yuta sa kalasangan, aron maporma, bahin sa mga reserba sa kalasangan, gawas kon sila nasakop na sa kasamtangan nga mga titulo nga giaprobahan nga aplikasyon sa publikong yuta.

Nahisgutan usab niya sa mga partisipante kung asa nahitabo ang pagbaha sa barangay aron iyang matubag pinaagi sa pagpaambit sa kamahinungdanon sa pagpraktis sa organic farming.

Iyang gihagit ang mga partisipante sa paggamit sa ilang nakat-unan aron makatabang sa ilang komunidad.

Gipasiugdahan sa City Agriculture Office (CAgO) ang farmers-field-school (FFS) on Organic
Rice Production.

Kini gilunsad niadtong Hulyo 12, 2023 ug nagsugod sa pag-transplant niadtong Hulyo 24, 2023 sa Sitio Maranhog, Miglamin Malaybalay City. Kini adunay gilapdon nga 0.5 ka ektarya nga gipanag-iya sa FFS Cooperator nga si Mr. Joereni L. Calfoforo.

Gibahin ang pagtuon sa upat ka grupo aron adunay pagtandi sa abot. Atol sa pag-ani niadtong
Nobyembre 8, 2023, ang Group 2 nagpakita sa pinakataas nga average sa crop cut yield component nga adunay 4.6 kg, sunod ang Group 1 nga adunay 4.4 kg, sunod ang Group 3 nga adunay 3.6 kg, ug Group 4 nga adunay 3.3 kg.

Nakakuha ang demonstrasyon og kita nga PhP78,000.00 ug gikuhaan og Php 33,725.00 nga gasto. Nagresulta kini sa net income nga PhP44,275 o katugbang sa 131 percent nga pagbalik sa puhunan.

Kung itandi ang data sa crop cut sa isa ka ektarya, makita nga moabot ang produksyon niini sa 7
tonelada.

Malaybalay CGSO conducts Public Auction of unserviceable items

The City General Services Office (CGSO), led by Ms. Dioscora R. Niere, organized a Public Auction of Unserviceable Items/Equipment on June 30, 2023, at the City Engineer’s Compound. City Mayor Atty. Jay Warren R. Pabillaran attended the event, members of the Appraisal & Disposal Committee, Technical Working Group, staff, and guests, marking its significance

Mayor Pabillaran highlighted the importance of the public auction, citing the accumulation of unserviceable properties over time. He emphasized the need for a proper procedure to dispose of these items.

The Auction Sale consisted of six (6) lots of unserviceable equipment and properties, sold as one (1) cluster through a “Viva Voce” basis. The items included motorcycles, vehicles, various batteries, scrap iron, scrap plastic, and assorted tires, with a clustered minimum floor price of P1,490,220.64.

Two bidders participated in the auction, namely U2 Company from Maramag, Bukidnon, and VD Junkshop from Valencia City. Both bidders conceded their offers, thus concluding the public auction.

The committee responsible for the auction will be preparing for a second public auction to be announced at a later date. This upcoming auction aims to further dispose of unserviceable items and equipment.

The CGSO continues to demonstrate its commitment to efficient management and disposal of unserviceable properties, ensuring the optimal utilization of public resources. (LGU Malaybalay)

CSWDO highlights sectors’ success stories In the CGM 2nd Monday Convo

The City Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Ivy Amor C. Urbina sponsored the second Monday convocation on April 17, 2023, held at the Peoples’ Hall wherein they featured inspiring and success stories from various sectors they have served and worked with per their office mandate

In his opening remarks, project development officer Reynaldo Valdez welcomed the City Government officials and employees, as well as the invited guests. For her part in introducing the sharers from various sectors, Urbina reiterated that social welfare “covers practically everything that men do for the good of human society.” She emphasized that contrary to their office being perceived as a giver of “dole outs,” and that we need to capacitate the people in addressing their own needs. Urbina said that to show the face of social welfare today and how they have empowered the citizens, they opted to invite representatives from the various sectors to share their experiences.

From the youth sector, Sheree Ann Porlares from Bgry. Maligaya, who joined the PAG-ASA Youth Association almost a decade ago. She shared her learnings and guidance of the CSWD officers over the years, and how PYEAP has helped many other youths in the City.

Zoraida E. Montero, a person with disability/differently-abled individual, recounted how she benefited from the programs of the City Government. On the other hand, livelihood beneficiary Artenio Doldol of Brgy. Busdi recounted how they were affected by the pandemic. He went on to express gratitude for the livelihood support which helped his family with their day-to-day living. Doldol proudly shared that even after the pandemic, his small-scale ice cream business has flourished, and he now supplies ice cream to some 13 stores in Upper Pulangi.

Lea Cahucom who is a solo parent stressed the empowering experience of being in their organization. She extended her gratitude to the CSWDO and the City Government for the various projects for their group. Cahucom shared how she was able to cope well with the challenges and responsibilities as a mother all on her own raising her child. After the heartwarming sharing came another from 4Ps beneficiary, Alma Berayon. Apart from the consistent financial assistance she received, she also shared how the program gave her confidence and positivity in life.

As an additional highlight of the program, the Sangguniang Panlungsod handed a resolution recognizing the recent success of Joselino “Yoyong” Sacayle. He is the third placer in the 100-kilometer international trail running competition, Cuc Phuong Jungle Paths, in Vietnam. The SP Resolution expressed congratulations to Sacayle in the field of trail running, including his outstanding feats in Mt. Apo and Rizal provinces’ mountain races.

In his message, City Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran stressed the importance of hard work even amid the social benefits people get from the government. He also provided updates on the City Government initiatives for the whole daycare program. He cited the efforts of the CSWDO staff who attend to the daily flow of requests for medical assistance, and hospital billing, among others.

Closing the program was social welfare officer Hilsam Quemada who thanked the officials and employees present for the convocation. (LGU Malaybalay)
