VALENCIA CITY, Bukidnon — A total of 12,415 farmers and fisherfolk in this agricultural city have received presidential cash assistance aimed at cushioning production costs and helping sustain farm operations, as the Department of Agriculture–Regional Field Office 10 (DA-10), in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Valencia City, rolled out the first batch of payouts under the Presidential Assistance to Farmers and Fisherfolk Program (PAFFP) from Aug. 5 to 7

In a statement, the DA-10 said beneficiaries received P2,325 each, providing timely support to
farmers grappling with the cost of inputs as they prepare for the next cropping cycle.
The beneficiaries include rice farmers cultivating no more than two hectares and corn farmers
registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA), the
government’s official database used to identify and facilitate the delivery of agricultural
programs and assistance.
For corn farmer Analyn T. Oñate of Purok 20, Sitio Sinalayan, Barangay Concepcion, the
assistance arrived as she prepared for another planting season.
“Aduna koy tunga sa ektarya sa mais. Ang akong ani medyo gamay ra gyud sa pagkakaron
tungod kay ginabalik-balik ra nako og gamit akong binhi tungod sa gamay nga suplay niini,”
Oñate said.
She said the cash assistance would help her purchase additional seeds, allowing her to make the
most of the limited resources available to her.
The Valencia City payout represents about 12 percent of the total PAFFP distribution in
Bukidnon, with the remaining seven municipalities — Pangantucan, Damulog, Kadingilan,
Quezon, Malitbog, Sumilao and Talakag — scheduled to receive assistance in the coming weeks.
A second batch of PAFFP assistance for beneficiaries in Valencia City is also expected to be
released within August, according to DA-10.
The rollout forms part of the administration’s “Para sa Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas” agenda,
through which the agriculture department continues to bring direct government assistance closer
to farmers and fisherfolk across Northern Mindanao.
Beyond immediate financial relief, the program seeks to help agricultural producers keep their
farms productive, sustain rural livelihoods and strengthen food production in the region.
