CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — A total of 127 jobseekers in Northern Mindanao were hired on
the spot during the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Trabaho Agad Sept. 14 Job
Fair, giving applicants immediate employment opportunities through simultaneous job fairs in
five areas across the region.

The job fair registered 903 jobseekers and brought together 84 local companies and seven
licensed recruitment agencies offering more than 5,300 local and 1,700 overseas vacancies. Of
the registered applicants, 590 qualified for employment, with 127 securing immediate hiring.
The activities were held simultaneously in Cagayan de Oro City and the provinces of Bukidnon,
Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, and Misamis Occidental.
DOLE Northern Mindanao Regional Director Joffrey M. Suyao said the results reflect the
importance of employment services that directly connect jobseekers with available opportunities.
“The true measurement of government service is not just how many programs we have, but how
many people we assist in finding a job, starting a sustainable livelihood, maintaining decent
work, and providing their families with a brighter future,” Suyao said.
The job fair also served as a One-Stop Government Services Hub, where 451 clients received
assistance from participating government agencies and partner institutions. Services covered
employment, workers’ concerns, professional services, social protection, and other government
transactions.
Aside from the job fair, DOLE also released assistance through its employment and livelihood
programs across Northern Mindanao.
The DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program provided P17.25 million to 1,035 beneficiaries, while
the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program
provided P78.54 million to 9,472 workers.
The DOLE Adjustment Measures Program (AMP) provided P2.89 million to 12 project
proponents benefiting 110 workers. The Special Program for the Employment of Students
(SPES) released P2.02 million in stipends to 425 beneficiaries, while the Government Internship
Program (GIP) provided P2.07 million to 341 young professionals.
The JobStart Philippines Program also provided P1.72 million in training allowances to 33 youth
beneficiaries, while KADIWA ng Pangulo disbursed P38,800 to 19 beneficiaries. (Jasper Marie
