MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon – The City Veterinary Office (CVO) has successfully
vaccinated 10,850 dogs and cats during the first six days of its Year 10 High-Density House-to-
House Anti-Rabies Vaccination Campaign, reinforcing the city’s commitment to protecting both
animals and communities from rabies.

From July 6 to 11, CVO veterinary teams conducted free house-to-house anti-rabies vaccinations
in the barangays of Sumpong, Dalwangan, Casisang, Linabo, Silae, Patpat, Mapulo, Barangay 1,
Kalasungay, and Managok.
The City Government in a press release said the campaign recorded an impressive total of 10,850
vaccinated animals, consisting of 8,813 dogs and 2,037 cats, during its first six days of
implementation.
City veterinarians attributed the campaign’s early success to the strong cooperation of barangay
officials, volunteers, and responsible pet owners who welcomed the vaccination teams into their
communities and actively supported the initiative.
The house-to-house vaccination drive will continue until July 29, 2026, with residents
encouraged to take advantage of the free anti-rabies vaccination for their pets as veterinary teams
visit the remaining scheduled barangays.
The City Veterinary Office emphasized that rabies remains a 100-percent preventable but fatal
disease, making regular vaccination the most effective way to safeguard both animals and
people. By ensuring that pets are vaccinated, families also help protect their neighbors and
contribute to a healthier, safer community.
The office expressed its gratitude to everyone who has supported the campaign and called on pet
owners whose dogs and cats have yet to be vaccinated to participate in the remaining schedules.
Through sustained community cooperation, the city aims to achieve high vaccination coverage
and maintain a rabies-free and safer Malaybalay for all. (melbmadera)
