MALAYBALAY CITY (January 31, 2026) — The Department of Labor and Employment–Bukidnon Field Office (DOLE-BukFO) released ₱1.03 million in livelihood support to four workers’ associations and a local entrepreneur in Impasugong on January 16

The turnover aims to strengthen community enterprises, providing residents with sustainable income opportunities in the tourism and retail sectors.

Provincial Head Raul L. Valmores led the ceremony, held in partnership with the First Puntian Farmers Association (FIPUFA) and the local government of Impasugong.

Tourism-focused groups received specialized packages: the Impasugong Women’s Organization acquired a handicraft and sewing project; the CabCor Riders Association received a motor spare parts project; and the Communal Ranch Vendors Association launched a souvenir and t-shirt printing shop. These initiatives are designed to enhance visitor services and accelerate the municipality’s tourism sector.

Mayor Anthony “Jetaime” Okinlay said the local government’s partnership with DOLE is vital for expanding income opportunities and supporting community-based enterprises.

Agriculture and retail groups also benefited. The SKIP-Friendship Farmers Association received ₱250,000 for a rice retailing project, while entrepreneur Mycajoy Cabilis was granted ₱30,000 for her cake shop.

The fund was sourced from the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), the agency’s flagship initiative providing sustainable opportunities to marginalized groups, including displaced individuals and Indigenous Peoples. (KJCP/RLT/DOLE-10 BukFO/PIA-10/Bukidnon)
