MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon – A new landmark development aimed at transforming
Malaybalay City into a premier destination for business, innovation, recreation, and sustainable
urban growth is set to rise following the unveiling of the proposed Eco-MICE Innovation Park
project.

Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran announced the ambitious development plan during his message
at the celebration of the city’s 149th Aldaw ta Malaybalay on June 13, 2026, held at the
Bukidnon Cultural and Sports Complex in Barangay Laguitas.
The project will be established within the city government’s newly acquired 15-hectare property
situated along the Diversion Road in Barangay Casisang, adjacent to the Northern Mindanao
Wellness and Reintegration Center (NMWRC). The strategic location is envisioned to become a
dynamic hub that will support economic growth, tourism, entrepreneurship, and community
development.
Dubbed the Eco-MICE Innovation Park, the development is designed to integrate modern
infrastructure with environmentally sustainable features. At its core will be a state-of-the-art
convention center capable of hosting major conferences, exhibitions, meetings, and special
events, positioning Malaybalay as a competitive venue for MICE activities—Meetings,
Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions—in Northern Mindanao.
Complementing the convention facilities will be a spacious open-field events area intended for
cultural gatherings, concerts, festivals, sports activities, and other large-scale public events. The
master plan also includes the construction of a modern transport terminal, which is expected to
improve mobility and accessibility within the city.
The development will likewise feature a mixed-use residential and commercial center envisioned
to attract investments, create employment opportunities, and stimulate local business activity. An
Innovation and Enterprise Center will serve as a platform for entrepreneurship, technology
development, skills enhancement, and business incubation, supporting the city’s vision of
becoming a center for innovation and economic competitiveness.
Adding to the project’s appeal is the planned Eco-Recreation Park, which will provide green
open spaces and leisure facilities where residents and visitors can enjoy nature while promoting
environmental stewardship and sustainable living.
Mayor Pabillaran said the city has already earmarked nearly ₱70 million from its 2025 savings as
the initial funding for the project, demonstrating the local government’s commitment to turning
the vision into reality.
The Eco-MICE Innovation Park is expected to become one of the city’s flagship development
initiatives, reflecting Malaybalay’s continuing drive toward balanced progress, where economic
advancement, environmental sustainability, and quality of life go hand in hand.
Once realized, the project is anticipated to further strengthen Malaybalay’s position as
Bukidnon’s premier urban center and a key destination for investment, tourism, and innovation in
