MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon – In a bid to strengthen farm mechanization and enhance agricultural productivity in Northern Mindanao, the Department of Agriculture–Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10), through its High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP), turned over farm tractors to three local government unit (LGU) beneficiaries on January 21 at the Northern Mindanao Agricultural Crops and Livestock Research Complex in Barangay Dalwangan here

Under the HVCDP, DA-RFO 10 distributed three units of four-wheel drive (4WD) farm tractors valued at ₱1.5 million each. The equipment was awarded to LGU Talakag for the Balugto Hope Agroforestry Association, Inc.; LGU Sapad, Lanao del Norte, for the Maito-Salog Coco Farmers Agriculture Cooperative; and the Provincial Government of Camiguin.

Jose Manuel F. Alba, representative of the First Legislative District of Bukidnon, welcomed the initiative and expressed gratitude for the assistance, describing the tractors as “a concrete boost to farm productivity and countryside development.”

The turnover underscores DA-RFO 10’s continued commitment to the mechanization and modernization of agri-fishery production systems in the region. (pr)
