GAD Focal Point System Executive Committee Holds Quarterly Meeting to Strengthen Gender-Responsive Policies

The executive committee’s quarterly meeting served as a platform to review various initiatives’ midyear accomplishments and progress.

The city administrator led discussions on the ongoing projects aimed at improving the lives of Valencianos.

These initiatives encompassed diverse sectors, including security and healthcare for women and children, the amendment of the GAD Code, the establishment of a teen center, a child minding center, and many more.

As the GAD Focal Point System Executive Committee continues its endeavors, Valencia City remains poised to make significant strides toward a more inclusive and prosperous future. Valencia hosts Biennial Conference 2023

In what marks a momentous occasion for the City of Golden Harvest, Valencia City proudly hosted the prestigious Biennial Conference 2023, organized by the Association of Fundamental Baptist Churches in the Philippines (AFBCP). This highly esteemed 4-day event has drawn delegates from various regions nationwide, making it a significant gathering of religious leaders and faithful attendees

Valencia City Mayor Azucena P. Huervas expressed her profound honor and gratitude as the city was chosen as a venue for this year’s AFBCP Biennial Conference. During the opening salvo, Mayor Huervas warmly welcomed all the delegates. They emphasized the importance of religious gatherings in fostering strong relationships within the community and strengthening one’s faith in God.

Notably, Governor Rogelio Neil P. Roque of the Province of Bukidnon also greeted all participants and congratulated the AFBCP for successfully organizing this significant gathering.

The Biennial Conference 2023 commenced on July 24, 2023, and continued until July 27, 2023.

This remarkable event holds special significance for Valencia City, as it marks the return of the conference after 56 years since Valencia Town first hosted it in 1967.

Moreover, hosting the Biennial Conference 2023 is a significant milestone in Valencia City’s pursuit of becoming the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibits (MICE) Capital of Bukidnon. Gipasabot ni Abe Gillaco, Department Head sa Human Resource and Management Office, ang tumong ug tingoha sa maong programa atol sa kalihokan nga gipahigayon niadtong Abril 17, 2023 sa City Hall covered court.

Sa maong programa, ang mga serbisyo nga ginapatuman ubos sa Ordinance No. 34-2011 ug Resolution No. 264 series of 2017 nga mao ang medical, educational, ug burial assistance ingon man ang Assistance to Families in Crisis Situation (AICS) karon mas gipadali ang pagproseso ug gipaduol sa katawhan.

Lakip sa gipatuman ang pag-organisa sa mga point person, nga gilangkoban sa mga personahe sa LGU, nga gitahasan nga maoy magtabang sa pagmonitor sa ilang komunidad ug magreport sa Hatod Serbisyo Team kung adunay mga hingtungdan nga kinahanglan tabangan.

“Gikan sa balay padulong hospital hangtod sa pag uli sa balay sa pasyente alagaran sa hatod serbisyo team. Gikan usab sa balay sa pasyente hangtod sa katapusan niyang pahulayan alagaran gihapon sa hatod serbisyo team,” matod ni Gillaco diin dugang pa niya nga konsepto sa programang Enhanced Hatod Serbisyo sa mga Valencianos ang “Silingan ko panggaon ko ug tabangan ko.”

Suportado usab ni Retired DILG Bukidnon Provincial Director Ronelo Alvarez ang maong lakang nga gihimo sa lokal nga pangagamhanan alang sa paghatag sa labing maayo nga mga serbisyo alang sa kaayohan sa Valencianos.

Dako usab ang pasalamat ni Mayor Huervas diin iyang gipasalig ang padayon nga paghatag og serbisyo ug tabang sa katawhan.

Farmers in 3 barangays in Valencia benefits from FMR Projects

DILG Bukidnon in coordination with the Local Government of Valencia City successfully turned over a total of PhP60-Million worth of farm-to-market road projects to the Barangay of Lilingayon, Lurugan, and San Carlos under the Local Government Support Fund – Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP), on Feb. 21, 2023

A blessing and a ceremonial road opening was initiated in the project site locations of the three barangays, and a joint program was conducted thereafter at the Covered Court of Barangay San Carlos – participated by the barangay beneficiaries, LGU-Valencia City, DILG, PNP, PA, and project contractors.

One of the program’s highlights is the signing of the Certificate of Turnover and Acceptance led by City Mayor Azucena P. Huervas as the implementing unit and duly accepted by the three beneficiary punong barangays.

“Kini nga proyekto nahatag kaninyo pinaagi sa hiniusang pagpaningkamot sa nagkada-iyang ahensya sa gobyerno. Busa atong ampingan kini para sa pagkab-ot sa tiunay nga kalamboan sa atong mga mag-uuma”, said Mayor Huervas during the ceremony.

Moreover, DILG Provincial Director Rhona Pedraza-Abadilla led the giving of the key of responsibility along with CLGOO Jan Eric L. Manasan and representatives from the PNP and Philippine Army to the local officials of the City.

PD Abadilla, in her statement, congratulates the three barangays and emphasized the critical role of each beneficiary in ensuring the long-term use of the road projects.

“Sauna inyo lang kining gidamgo, apan gituman na sa atuang gobyerno, og karong adlawa gitunol na kaninyo ang mga proyekto. Mao kini ang simbolo nga kamo gihatagn og pagtagad sa atong gobyerno. Busa atoang tagaan og saktong pagpakabana og pag-amping aron nga mo lungtad pa kining proyekto sa dugay pa nga katuigan”, said PD Abadilla.

Meanwhile, all three Punong barangay beneficiaries collectively expressed their appreciation to the DILG, LGU-Valencia City, and partner line agencies for the realization of their farm-to-market roads and hoped for added projects for the continued economic development of the barangays.

The activity wrapped up with the viewing of AVP featuring the completed road projects and success stories of the beneficiaries.

Each SBDP beneficiary barangays received PHP20 Million worth of funding for the implementation of their priority projects. (DILG Bukidnon)

Valencia Mayor Huervas signs PhP2-Billion budget for 2022

MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon (Jan. 03) – Valencia City Mayor Azucena P. Huervas signed the PhP2,087,623,373.00 annual budget for the fiscal year 2022, the highest budget the city ever has.

The Valencia City Public Affairs Information and Assistance Section in a statement said, the
Ceremonial Budget Signing was held on December 31 at the City Covered Court.

The total approved budget is including the allocation for local economic enterprise fund amounting to PhP70,000,000.00 and the general fund amounting to P2,017,623,373.

Including in the 2022 budget is the projects and programs under the five percent Gender And Development (GAD) at PhP100,881,169.00, the five percent Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund also at P100,881,169.00, and 20 percent budget for Local Development Fund at PhP347,744,675.

Also included in the said budget is the allocation for Personal Service Requirement, Maintenance and Operating Expense, and Capital Outlay.

Vice Mayor Policarpo Murillo IV, Committee on Accounts and Appropriation chairperson Councilor Oliver Owen Garcia and his co-chair Councilor Eduardo Chan and others witnessed the signing ceremony.
