VALENCIA CITY, Bukidnon — Police seized 121 grams of suspected shabu valued at about
₱822,800 and arrested two men in a buy-bust operation in Valencia City, Bukidnon, police said
Wednesday, September 23.

The operation was conducted at about 6:51 p.m. on Sept. 22 in Purok 11, Barangay Poblacion, by
personnel from the Valencia City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit, Bukidnon 2nd
Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Intelligence Unit, 1003rd Maneuver Company of
the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bukidnon and
the City Anti-Drugs Special Unit Team.
Police identified the suspects as a 39-year-old man known by the alias “Ric-Ric,” whom
authorities classified as a high-value individual, and another man, 30, described as a street-level
individual.
Police Lt. Col. Hope Mark L. Orbuda, officer-in-charge of the Valencia CPS, said four sachets
containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu were confiscated during the
operation.
Three of the sachets were heat-sealed and one was knot-tied, with a combined weight of 121
grams. Police placed the estimated value of the seized substance at ₱822,800.
Authorities also recovered a blue sling bag allegedly used to contain the suspected drugs, a pink
Honor cellular phone and a ₱1,000 bill.
Orbuda said charges for alleged violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No.
9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared for filing in court.
The confiscated items will undergo qualitative and quantitative examination at the Provincial
Forensic Unit, police said.
The two suspects remain in the custody of the Valencia CPS pending documentation and proper
disposition.
Bukidnon Police Provincial Office Director PCOL Oliver Sotto Navales commended the
personnel involved in the operation and called on the public to remain vigilant and support law
enforcement efforts against illegal drugs. (melbmadera)
