MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon – Joint police and military forces uprooted and destroyed 800 fully grown marijuana plants with an estimated street value of Php200,000 during an interagency operation conducted on June 8, 2026, in Barangay Halapitan, San Fernando, Bukidnon

According to police and military reports, the marijuana plantation, covering approximately 350 square meters, was discovered in the remote area of Sitio Salumayag following information provided by members of the Barangay Intelligence Network (BIN).

Personnel of the San Fernando Municipal Police Station acted on the report and coordinated with military and police units, including the PDEA, to verify the information and conduct the operation.

The joint operation resulted in the immediate eradication and destruction of the illegal crops at the site.

Authorities said 10 hills of fully grown marijuana plants were retained as evidence and transported to the San Fernando Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. The specimens were subsequently turned over to the Bukidnon Provincial Forensic Unit in Malaybalay City for laboratory examination.

Officials said the operation forms part of the government’s continuing campaign against the cultivation of illegal drugs in Bukidnon and ongoing efforts to prevent the distribution of marijuana in nearby communities.

Law enforcement and security forces also urged the public to remain vigilant and report illegal activities in their respective communities to support initiatives aimed at maintaining peace, order, and public safety throughout the province.

The operation was conducted through the joint efforts of personnel from Alpha Company, 89th Infantry (Makatao) Battalion, led by 2Lt. Mamer C. Oliverio, officer-in-charge; the San Fernando Municipal Police Station, headed by Police Major Kevin P. Bangsoy; the Bukidnon 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company under Police Major Jessie James M.
