Ang 48 ka mga partisipante nagikan pa sa Cagayan de Oro City, El Salvador City sa Misamis Oriental, mga lungsod sa Manolo Fortich, Pangantucan, Impasug-ong, Maramag, Valencia City, Malaybalay City ug uban pang dapit sa Bukidnon, kung aha naka-display ang 100 nga mga obra nga malantaw gikan Hulyo 31,2023 – Agosto 25,2023.

DOLE-10 honors Bukidnon’s informal sector workers

MALAYBALAY CITY – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10, through its Bukidnon Provincial Field Office (Buk PFO), recently conducted a learning session for workers in the informal sector in line with the 2023 Labor Day commemoration

The activity aims to provide and aid the workers in the informal sector under the Labor Day theme, “Pabahay, Bilihing Abot-Presyo, Benepisyo ng Matatag na Trabaho Para sa Manggagawang Pilipino.”
DOLE-10 BukPFO Provincial Director Raul L. Valmores reassures that DOLE, through its flagship programs and services, will continuously provide job-generation initiatives to workers in the informal sector.
“We in DOLE will continue collaborating with the different government agencies and Accredited Co-Partners (ACPs) so the individual and association beneficiaries can attain a sustainable livelihood,” Valmores said.
Nineteen association beneficiaries of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) from a city and different municipalities in Bukidnon, including six ACPs, attended the event.
The Department of Trade and Industry Business Development Division Chief Jose Maureal discussed financial and organizational management with stakeholders of DOLE Integrated Livelihood.
“The success and sustainability of government programs depend on the maturity of the people’s organization that are empowered to become partners on project implementation,” Maureal said.
This initiative will help the association generate support in making critical financial decisions, improve the profitability of their organizations, guide the organizational structure, and ensure the alignment of employees with company policies.
The activity also included a learning session on simple bookkeeping from Abag Kalambuan Inc., Executive Director, Bienvenido Narciso, which included a workshop on simple bookkeeping to enhance knowledge of finances.
Narciso emphasized the importance of maintaining complete and accurate records of all financial transactions to ensure proper reflection in the book of accounts.
He emphasized that having basic bookkeeping knowledge is crucial as it enables easy maintenance of records and provides detailed information on expenses and income.
During the event, DILP released three livelihood starter kits, including a sari-sari store, Bigasan, and a video production project worth P70,000.
The Parents Mobilization Action Group (PMAG) was granted a total amount of P500,000 for their Consumer Store Enhancement Project.
Under Social Amelioration Program (SAP), the sugar workers received P24,000.
Each of the three beneficiaries received P8,000 for their maternity benefit claims.
All attendees pledged to support the government’s goal of transitioning informal sector workers into the formal economy, ensuring their protection under the law. They vowed to promote the welfare and decent work agenda of workers in the informal economy.

Mindanao coffee farmers sweep PCQC 2023

ILIGAN CITY — Farmers from Mindanao garnered all 12 winning entries in the Arabica category during Sunday’s awarding ceremonies of the Philippine Coffee Quality Competition 2023 held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, according to announcements from the Department of Trade and Industry offices in the Northern Mindanao and Davao regions

Garnering the top prize with a cupping score of 86 was Manolito Garces’ natural-processed coffee, with cupping notes of pineapple, mango, black currant, and honey. Garces is from New Eden, Pangantucan in Bukidnon.

Second was Jhon Lawrence dela Cerna, of the Balutakay Coffee Farmers’ Association (BACOFA) in Bansalan, Davao del Sur, with a score of 85.75; third was Dione F. Ellaga, also of Bansalan, 85.41.

Fourth place was Junmar Gunayan, of the MILALITTRA Farmers Agricultural Cooperative (MILFACO), of Bukidnon, 85.03; fifth was Rogelio Gonzales, also of BACOFA in Bansalan, 85; and sixth was Arnold Pina, of the Bayanihan Millennium Multipurpose Cooperative (BMMPC) in Pangantucan, Bukidnon, 84.97.

Completing the top 12 were Rogelio R. Balacuit, of Amai Manabilang in Lanao del Sur; Cecilia G. Cavalida, Davao del Sur; Rosebele Sulatan, MILFACO; Cherry Gil Cabanday, Davao del Sur; Roquita dela Cerna, Davao del Sur; and Lendilou F. Loon, Davao del Sur.

Arabica coffee is considered the superior coffee and fetches higher prices for the farmers.

In the Robusta category, Ilocos Sur farmers dominated the competition, winning 10 of the top 12, according to the DTI-Ilocos Region.

First place was Vilma Lapasan, of the Tirad Pass Growers Association, Gregorio del Pilar, Ilocos Sur, with a cupping score of 85.22. Her coffee had notes of vanilla, pineapple, berries, and raisin.

Two farmers from Sultan Kudarat province also made it to the winning entries—Reyjohn A. Basco, 8th place; and Robert James Gacayan, 10th.

Second was Mabini Ubuan, of San Elias Coffee Growers Association in Sigay, with a score of 85; third was Juana Bitongan, also of Gregorio del Pilar, 84.38; fourth was Marietta Lidem, of Sigay, 83.94; and fifth was Jean Apalet, also of Sigay, Ilocos Sur, 83.5.

The rest of the winners from Ilocos Sur were Byron Daplayan, 6th; Silvestra Villegas, 7th; Erlinda Dao-ayan, 9th; Jordan Dalida, 11th; and Marielle Gannad, 12th. (MindaNews)

Malaybalay city gov’t launches new office to attract more investors

The City Government of Malaybalay successfully launched the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (LEDIPO) on March 28, 2023, at Loiza’s Pavilion, Brgy. Casisang, Malaybalay City

The office was created to facilitate the preparation, coordination, and execution of local economic development and investment promotion policies, programs, and activities. More so, it will assist the Local Investment and Incentives Board (LIIB) in carrying out the objectives of code 926 or also known as the Revised Malaybalay City Investment and Incentives Code.

The launching was attended by department heads of the City Government of Malaybalay and LEPIDO Board Members.

Hon. Cromwell Kiril Dinlayan as the Vice Chair of the Local Investment and Incentives Board gladly welcomed the participants and highlighted that the launching of LEDIPO marks the beginning of the mission in promoting Malaybalay City as a destination for investors.

City Mayor Hon. Jay Warren Pabillaran gave his words of encouragement to continue every endeavor that has been started so that both Malaybalay and the investors could avail the opportunities in the future.

Hon. Pabillaran also persuaded other offices to give their full support in the objective to make Malaybalay a business-friendly city and to maintain transparency in order to attract more investors.

Likewise, Vice Mayor Hon. Estelito Marabe, the author of the Revised Investment and Incentive Code, encouraged the offices in creating strategies to promote Malaybalay as a potential area for investments.

The creation of LEDIPO that will focus on fiscal and non-fiscal incentives will likely invite more investors, Hon. Marabe added.

On the plenary, Ms. Amalia Propia, CLGOO presented the DILG MC 2020-167 or the guidelines on promoting local economic development and investment promotion and the establishment of LEDIPO.

Meanwhile, Ms. Famelah Raquel Villanueva, PD of the Department of Trade and Industry) DTI Bukidnon discussed DTI’s Devolution Transition Plan emphasizing DTI functions to be devolved to LEDIPO.

More importantly, Mr. Romeo Lapeciros, Jr. LEDIPO- Designate, clearly expressed the salient features of Ordinance 926 or the Revised Malaybalay Local Investment and Incentives Code (LIIC), which includes the fiscal and non-fiscal incentives for the investors whose businesses or enterprise is registered in line with the investment priority areas (preferred projects) indicated in the LIIC.

City Administrator Atty. Anna Marie R. Bergado, CPA stressed in her concluding message that the launching of LEDIPO is another step forward and that the success of these efforts will not be achieved without the collective efforts of all offices.

Thereafter, the first Local Investment and Incentives Board Meeting followed with Mayor Pabillaran presiding over the meeting being the Chairman of the Local Investment and Incentives Board.

Among present were members of the Board with Hon. Cromwell Kiril Dinlayan as the Vice Chairperson and with members Hon. Brian Nelson Flores, Hon. Christopher Soria, Hon. Bonifacio Valiente, Mr. Romeo Lapeciros, Jr., Juancho Chiong and Mr. Roberto Tinsay, representative of the Malaybalay City Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

DTI-10 turns over POS equipment to OTOP hubs

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Eight One Town, One Product Philippines (OTOP) hubs in northern Mindanao were granted a point-of-sale (POS) terminal worth P25,000 each by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 on February 22

OTOP Hub is a one-stop shop that offers a general outlet for quality OTOP products. Strategically located hubs also act as “pasalubong centers,” showcasing the locally rooted products that carry the culture and tradition of a particular place. Its establishment is one of the most impactful interventions under the OTOP program of the DTI.

Through the provincial offices, DTI-10 has worked to keep the hubs in good shape and make sure that its operations run smoothly by constantly keeping an eye on them. The turnover of POS will help the OTOP hubs improve their operations and make it easier for them to keep track of sales, keep books, and manage their inventory.

KaHero, the company that made the POS, also gave a briefing and orientation on how to use the system to the people who worked at the OTOP hubs.

The eight OTOP hubs that received assistance were OTOP Malaybalay and OTOP Valencia in Bukidnon; OTOP Iligan and OTOP Tubod in Lanao del Norte; and OTOP Ginama, OTOP Kuyamis, OTOP Claveria, and Lunâ by Oro Creatives in Misamis Oriental. (DTI-10/PIA-10)

Sa pag-ila nga ang COVID-19 public health standards karon na mas gaan na, ang Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 gusto nga ipahibalo sa publiko nga dili na kini modawat sa mga aplikasyon alang sa Safety Seal certification epektibo sa Pebrero 1, 2023

Base sa pahibalo sa DTI-10, ang ahensya mu-hunong na sab sa pag-monitor sa pagsunod sa mga establisemento sa Minimum Public Health Standards.

Ang Department of Trade and Industry Bukidnon Provincial Office nanawagan sa tanang Service and Repair Enterprises sa probinsiya nga mag-renew sa ilang accreditation sa o sa dili pa ang Enero 31, 2023.

Base sa pahibalo sa departamento, ang pag-file sa mga aplikasyon sa accreditation nga walay penalty alang sa mga service ug repair shops nga naghupot og certificates of accreditation nga na-expire niadtong Disyembre 31, 2022 matapos karong Enero 31, 2023.
